Our local National Trust Treasure....Buckland Abbey is a 5 minute drive from the cottage and is open to the public (please check their website for opening dates). It was the home of Sir Francis Drake and the main house is now set up for the public to view. There are quaint shops and a cafe as well as beautiful walks around the grounds and the nearby fields and river.
