"Wairere Boulders" is a Nature Park created on private property. Here you enjoy a world unique basalt boulder formation on a stroll through the Wairere valley. You will see the only eroded basalt rocks in the world (as far as known).

A small spot on private farm, that has the only granite rock formations that have been eroded by nature. Here you find a track that winds around farmland showing off the amazing boulders and rocks with their stunning shapes. A very peacefull and enjoyable walk . (45min to 1.5 hrs) not far from the farm you come out at a historic landing with an old missionary site. Take time and discover some of the more hidden gems of NZ history. relax on the jetty, watch the tides change, walk along the sea. This is a secluded spot not many people go off the main track to see.
