This one-of-a-kind adventure connects you to the hidden world beneath Puget Sound’s waters. I’ll guide you through the best techniques for “dock fouling”—spotting and observing tiny marine wonders—while respecting their environment.
• We’ll meet in downtown Seattle, where I’ll introduce you to the art of dock fouling (and explain why it’s called that).
• On the ferry ride across Puget Sound, I’ll share stories, photos, and fun facts about the fascinating creatures we’re about to encounter, from glowing anemones to flamboyant sea slugs—nudibranchs, if you want to get nerdy about it.
• Once we arrive in Bremerton, the real magic begins. We’ll explore the floating docks, using flashlights and the provided guides to spot stunning marine life. The docks are teeming with tiny colorful creatures straight out of a sci-fi movie.
• On the ferry ride back to Seattle, we’ll regroup to discuss our finds, compare photos, and geek out over the incredible biodiversity we’ve just witnessed.
You’ll come away with a deeper appreciation for the underwater world, new knowledge of the Pacific Northwest’s unique marine ecosystems and species, and seriously stunning photos of sea slugs, anemones, and other creatures.
