Was ihr unternehmen werdet
** Our tour includes a free glass of Guinness AND a glass of craft beer! ** As well as giving us delicious Guinness, the Guinness family have left Dublin with an amazing legacy of their generosity all over the city! Join me on a fascinating tour of this eccentric family, and the places in Dublin that wouldn't be here without them! We will learn about the characters, the scandals and their vast impact on Dublin, as well as sampling a glass of the 'Black Stuff' along the way; and since Guinness is best served fresh, it tastes better in Dublin than anywhere else! We start at St. Stephen's Green, a park generously donated by Arthur Edward Guinness, and will see a statue of the man himself. We visit the hidden gem that is the Iveagh Gadens, with its Archery lawn, waterfall and maze! Next we pass St. Patrick's cathedral, restored by the Guinness family, and finally the Iveagh Trust buildings, a radical socially innovative scheme for Dublin's poor, including housing, baths and shops, one of which- the Jam Art Factory- we'll visit. Finally we reach The Beer Market, a pub that takes its beer very seriously! A glass of their famous beer is included in the price, and food is available.
I am an artist, architect, local historian and experienced tour guide, with a huge passion for all things Dublin! I have lived in Dublin for many years, exploring the city's arts, culture, nightlife, food and drink scene. I combine a deep knowledge of the history of Guinness and Dublin with a deep love of beer! My passion for heritage, architecture and beer is combined in this tour of the amazing legacy of the Guinness family. My love for the city of Dublin makes me an exceptional guide with a deep understanding of the city, its history, people, and of course, night life!
