First, I'll welcome you into my home, share my personal connection to Indian food and family history. We'll talk about regional differences, techniques, and kitchen essentials. Then we'll begin cooking together - this class is hands-on! Finally, we will enjoy the meal together. Feel free to BYOB.
Whether you eat vegan, vegetarian, Paleo, Whole 30, gluten-free, dairy free, sugar free or if you eat everything, I can accommodate. All spice tolerances welcome!
I want guests to feel welcome and leave confident with cooking Indian food. Bring an open heart and empty stomach. I customize menus based on preferences and seasonalities but here are examples:
Example menu #1 - Traditional, Vegetarian Gujarati Meal (Thali): This is hyper-regional cuisine from my parents homeland that you won't find in restaurants. Dal (spiced lentil soup), seasonal vegetable sabzi (stir fry), tangy raita (yogurt sauce), aromatic basmati rice, crunchy pappadom, pickled limes.
Example menu #2 - Combo Regional Meal: This is a combo of both regional and familiar restaurant dishes. Chicken khichdi (cozy chicken, rice and lentil dish), saag or matar paneer (rich, cheese curries), tangy raita (yogurt sauce), crunchy pappadom, pickled limes.
