Absolutely loved my stay; I’ve been coming to the Lakes for over 20 years and this place is the ultimate cosy retreat, just what you want to come back to after a long day out walking. The property has everything you need and is very dog friendly; I always come armed with blankets and towels but it makes it so much easier not having to worry about carpets and the coat stand came in very handy for drying things. The location is great; I arrived much later than planned in the dark and found it no problem. It feels very peaceful and private but Windermere high street is within walking distance. I will definitely be back again, thank you for a great stay!

Amanda was a lovely host. She was very responsive and helpful when we messaged. The house is deceptively big and there's plenty of room to chill and get ready for busy days. It is very well stocked with plenty of kitchen equipment for if you decide to cook at home. The beds are all doubles and they're very comfy with tonnes of blankets to keep extra cosy if you like! The area is nice with a big beach. We did find that there isn't a great lot to do, so we found ourselves driving quite a lot but if you're a walker, it would be perfect with all the coastal paths. Diamond pizza is a fab place to get a quick bite after a long day so we would definitely recommend there if you're a fan of a mucky tea! If you're wanting to explore the Northumberland coast and find yourself in Bamburgh, we would definitely recommend Creel and Reel seafood trailer for som delicious locally sourced seafood! All in all we have had a wonderful stay with our dogs and found Amanda's place the perfect getaway!

Great place to stay near scarfell pike and a beautiful location. Great house also plenty of space for the 12 lads who rented this place for a stag doo. would recommend

The house was easy to find and as described. On arrival the house was clean and tidy, and the welcome pack most acceptable. The host was very helpful, and easily contacted. The 1 very minor problem we had was sorted very quickly. We would certainly recommend the property and would have no hesitation in using the property again.

Seldom is where we stay one of the highlights of our trip, but this townhouse definitely was. It was absolutely amazing. It was warm and comfortable after coming in from our chilly all day excursions. The beds were comfortable, the house extremely clean and the amenities absolute perfection.

Great clean, spacious family home, felt at ease, very comfortable, enjoyed our stay. Great value for money. Completed Spennymoor parkrun and visited Durham for Rugby.

We stayed here for a couple of nights to visit my elderly father in law, after a long drive it was a lovely place to stay, clean with everything you could need. The garden is completely dog proof which was important to us and it was great to sit out there in the sunshine. There’s a great walk just at the end of the street for Dogs, the village has a great selection of shops/ bakery/restaurants. We’ll be booking again for our next visit

What a lovely place! Lovely property with everything we needed. Directly opposite the property was a lovely walk that took you straight to the river in a few minutes. A lovely country side feel but also not far from local shops and pub. Jo was friendly and welcoming. We would stay again.

We spent 5 nights here at the end of March and start of April 2025. We were really fortunate with the weather and took full advantage of the wonderful location: scaling Slight Side and Scafell on one day, riding to Coniston via the bridleway on another and 'bagging' most of the Coniston fells on another day via Wrynose Pass. We ate in on a couple of nights and also went to the Wainwright's for some pub grub, as well as Stoves for their evening menu. Simon and Belinda's place is very well situated in Great Langdale for all kinds of walks and rides, food and decent pints. The house itself is a lovely place to return to in the evening with easy parking outside for our van and once inside, everything is spotless, well equipped and cosy. We really appreciated all the helpful information on bike routes and walking routes and spent the late evenings by the fire pouring over the Wainwright books planning the next day's adventures. 100% recommended.

We had such a lovely stay at the cottage. It was clean, comfortable, and well put together. The free spa access was a nice bonus, especially after a long day out. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage in Elterwater — the perfect base for exploring the Lake District. Four of us (two couples) and our dog had plenty of space to relax. The cottage was spotless, with comfortable beds, high-quality linen and towels, and excellent appliances throughout. The location is unbeatable, nestled right in the heart of the valley with stunning 360-degree views and direct access to countless walking routes into the surrounding mountains. There’s a great local pub just a short stroll away and an outstanding nearby restaurant focusing on small plates and local produce — a real highlight. Although the cottage has one designated parking spot, there’s plenty of additional parking within two minutes’ walk, which made things very easy. Alun is a fantastic host — warm, reliable, and always helpful. We’ve stayed in a few of his properties now, and they never disappoint. We’d definitely seek out one of his places again next time we’re in the Lakes.

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

This is a lovely place to stay in a quiet, peaceful location. Great view from the windows with lots of greenery. Coniston is nearby and a lovely spot for exploring. Comfy beds, clean bathroom and good shower- all the essentials! Hosts were also accommodating when we had a last minute change of plans due to flight times.

Outstanding cottage, would love to come back soon! The photos don’t do it justice! It’s even better when you’re there. Spotlessly clean, beautiful kitchen/dining room and comfortable bed. The views from the back garden were fab! I can’t recommend this enough, would have happily stayed there longer and will definitely return. It was a lovely gesture that Kate even baked for us!! We've just returned from a short stay at my happy hounds. Our glamping pod Hugo was absolutely perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed and was absolutely spotless considering these are dog friendly. The welcome pack was also a nice touch with all quality items. We have 2 dogs one that is very nervous, he settled in well as it was peaceful and private and having ample space for them to run and play at the pod and the secure dog fields, these are a great facility for anyone traveling with a dog. It's only a short drive to find local amenities and finding my happy hounds was easy with Google maps being accurate. The communication from Harry was excellent with plenty of information and help if needed. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and have already started talking of booking again for the future. we loved our stay in Longtown. Andrea's caravan was absolutely spotless, so comfortable and spacious for the 4 of us and our lab dog. the property have everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. The shower was FANTASTIC! normally I dread caravan showers but this was bliss. Communication was ideal. Always a really prompt reply. We would love to book again.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful place during our holiday. The surroundings were peaceful and scenic, and it was such a nice experience to see the farm animals and watch the owners at work — it gave the stay a really authentic feel. The house was clean, the host was very responsive, and the hot tub was a great bonus! The only small downside was the water pressure in the house, but overall it was a wonderful and relaxing experience. Would definitely recommend!

If you like birds, nature and staying in someone's home, you'll love Siskin Cottage. Mike and Hen are friendly and generous hosts, the garden and views are stunning and the house full of character. I've stayed twice doing the Dales Way and would recommend it highly to fellow walkers.

Absolutely wonderful place. If you want peace and off grid, this ticks all the boxes. The cottage itself is extremely well equipped and the views are stunning. As a solo female traveller I also felt completely safe. It’s probably not for you if you’re not a confident driver or need to be near amenities, but for me with wonderful walks from the doorstep, it’s just perfect. This was my second visit, there will be a third and even a fourth! Thanks

We stopped here for only 1 night en route to the Isle of Arran, we wished we could stay longer. A beautiful location, spotless, with a wonderful set up. It's a fabulous stay, we would highly recommend it!
