You also have access to our full size kitchen, bath house and outdoor shower. The cabin has a full bathroom. Frequent sightings of deer, turkeys and other wildlife among the many fruit and berry trees are common in the camps. Secluded small farm house nestled in among maple, apple and pine trees. Lots of parking for trailers and guests. Wood burning Sauna on property. Just a short walk down the hill is our Private rock beach On Lake Superior with a fire pit to get cozy and watch the sunset. The main cabin also has a fire pit for your enjoyment. This is a quiet place with whitetail deer being the only thing to come and visit. Occasionally you’ll see bald eagles fly overhead looking for their dinner. Walking trails.

Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!

UP Snowmobile trail#14 runs feet from the end of the driveway, combining easy trail access with a secluded tiny home feel.

The lake boasts panfish, northern pike and walleye. Snowmobile Trail 8 runs on the north end of the lake and is easily accessible after a short run down the highway. The fishing dock is pulled out for the winter, but you can setup tip up’s for Northern Pike and watch from the living room.
