My husband and I visited Huu Lung to climb, and we were there with our 2 year old and nanny. The host Hoang picked us up from the airport and was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We had breakfast and dinner made for us, as well as a packed lunch everyday. He also arranged for breakfast for our nanny at 4:30am, because she was observing Ramadan! The guesthouse has lovely decorated private rooms with balconies, clean bathrooms, a garden, and a large dining area. Perfect for a toddler to run around. There is also a stream to cool off in and a cafe next door that serves up Vietnamese style coffee, tea and cold drinks. Our toddler ended up befriending the kids in the village and was off playing across the neighbourhood every afternoon! Would recommend this place, especially if travelling with young children.

Our hosts were very hospitable, warm, and kind. Anytime we needed recommendations, they were ready to help. Overall, we would love to come back if we go climbing in the area again. Maximum 10 minute motorbike ride from all the crags in the area. Being in the outskirts of town, it was quiet and peaceful in the evenings. Close to all the convenient stores as well.

We absolutely loved our stay! From the start, we felt so welcome. Hoang took great care of us every day and was always happy to help. His sister Phuong Anh stayed in touch online, always responding quickly and making everything easy. Auntie and Uncle Cat cooked us fresh, warm, and delicious meals every day – simple, local food made with love. The place is peaceful and beautiful, with a lovely garden that lights up softly in the evenings. The rooms are clean, cozy, and comfortable, with big windows, terraces, and great views. There’s air conditioning and good Wi-Fi too. We rented a scooter right at the homestay and had transport arranged from the airport and later to Cat Ba – all very smooth. It’s a perfect spot for climbers – truly one of a kind. We felt at home and can’t wait to come back!
