Baumhäuser als Ferienunterkünfte in Dambulla

Channa & Ursa's place was incredible! Channa met us at the Hiriwadunna Bathing Spot and took us via tuk tuk to the boat. He came across at about 7pm to prepare our meal that Ursa had prepared. The Sri Lankan meal was so delicious & plentiful! Channa then met us at 6am the following day and took us via tuk tuk to Lion's Rock, he charged the same low price as PickMe for return! The breakfast after the Rock was super yum - an array of curries and fruits. Channa then took us back across the lake so we could head to Dambulla on the public bus. That evening, he took us out on the boat for a fish - while we didn't catch anything, it was an incredible experience & a gorgeous place to enjoy a beer & watch the sunset. The BBQ was a nice treat too! We had elephant visitors (!!) and so much wildlife like mongoose, squirrels, buffalo & birdlife - sad we didn't see the wild cats, next time ;) Channa then made sure we got on the right bus to Kandy. Thank you for a wonderful & mesmerising stay!!!

We had a great stay at the Treehouse. Before we checked in, the host responded to our inquiries promptly and was very helpful with every question we had. The Treehouse, in general, was clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was a homemade meal prepared by the host themselves, and it was absolutely delicious. We felt right at home and would gladly come back.

We will forever remember our special stay at Maulie's place! We arrived late at night from our train ride from Colombo and Maulie picked us up from the train station and welcomed us with the most amazing dinner prepared under trees. We felt right at home! The food there is some of the best we had in Sri Lanka - especially the jack fruit curry! The birders cabin was the best as we felt like we were one with nature - the birds and insect sounds, the fire flies at night while you sleep under the mosquito nets. We also took the canoe onto the lake and it was the most magical serene experience! Maulie and her brother always made us feel so welcome and we would highly recommend this place for all nature lovers!

We had a really great time at the treehouse. It's a beautiful spot, surrounded by nature, with an unbeatable view of Lion's Rock. Falling asleep to a chorus of cicadas was very special, even with the odd peacock landing on the roof! Very clean, and well maintained, including the pool. Slightly strange smelling bathroom feels like a small price to pay for a hot shower in a tree! Balcony and the pool are both great spots to relax. Restaurant is fine, but don't expect anything too fancy. Host is more wonderful than heart emojis can express. We had a minor health crisis on the first day, and she and the staff could not have been more helpful. The manager also negotiated a good deal for local transfers, which we really appreciated.

Odsjeli smo u kućici na drvetu, bilo je sve odlično. Super smještaj u prirodi, dosta se čuju ptice i majmuni skaču po krovu i dolaze na terasu. Nama je to bilo okej. Doručak odličan, preporuka za barbecue dinner. Domaćin nam je organizirao safari i bilo je izvrsno i cjenovno pristupačno. Bazen je predivan i super nam je došao nakon obilaska da se osvježimo. Lokacija je odlična, Sigiriya je blizu, Polonnaruwa sat vremena udaljena, u mjestu ima slonova koji šeću uz cestu. Nama se jako svidjelo!

Back of Beyond war echt ein super Baumhaus inmitten vom Dschungel. Die Geräusche der Flora und Fauna bei Nacht sowie Tags waren beeindruckend. Auch das ein Affe versuchte einen unserer Rucksäcke durchzusuchen wird immer eine lustige Anekdote bleiben. Das Personal ist super freundlich und überaus zuvorkommend. Die Lage des Baumhauses ist perfekt, man kann den Piduranga-Felsen in 5min zu Fuß erreichen. Für Sigiriya würde ich ein Tuktuk empfehlen. Alles in allem war es ein wunderschönes Erlebnis, dass ich jederzeit weiterempfehlen werde.

Asela’s treehouse is a wonderful place. It has been built with lots of attention to detail and is very well maintained & comfortable. The area where it is located is quiet, with lots of nature and wildlife around, but at the same time it is close to some shops, restaurants and lots of things to do. Asela and his uncle are lovely people. We have the enjoyed breakfast and dinner which they offered to us. They are the most friendly and helpful people and took such good care of us. Asela helped to arrange transportation from the airport in a car as well as toured with us to many places in the area with his own Tuk Tuk.

Der Balkon, von dem aus man den Morgen beginnen konnte, war ein absoluter Höhepunkt – es war so schön, dort zu sitzen, den ersten Kaffee zu trinken und dabei den Eichhörnchen zuzusehen, wie sie von Baum zu Baum sprangen. Die Vögel kamen ebenfalls oft zu Besuch, besonders während des Frühstücks. Die Umgebung war ruhig und idyllisch – genau das, was wir uns für eine Auszeit vom Alltag gewünscht hatten. Wir haben auch einige Safari-Touren unternommen, und es war ein fantastisches Erlebnis, so nah an der Natur zu sein. Was uns besonders gefallen hat, war die Gastfreundschaft der Menschen vor Ort. Ranuka and Ugi are the cutest hosts imaginable, having worked tirelessly to make our stay the best it can be. Driving us around in their tuk tuk, cooking delicious meals for us, helping when my boyfriend was sick with the stomach bug and checking on him, bringing him medicine while I was out and about and even checking in on us after we had left. We had lovely chats about Sri Lanka, their upbringing, Buddhism and all kinds of topics. The tree house is so cute! The bathroom has everything it needs and def more than I expected from a tree house. The bed was comfortable and we slept amazing surrounded by the jungle sounds.
