We spent our holiday with our 3 kids for the 2nd time in The White House and it was as amazing as the first time. The villa is very spacious, with a lot of light, a great pool that is being well taken care of, and fantastic staff. Fatou cooked us a great local meal and provided us with anything we needed. Esa drove us around and showed us nice bars where they played the jembe, and Ousman joined us when we went to a local Reggae Party. We also enjoyed the massage of Lamen (which is really something you should experience there). After nice mornings runs in the fabulous nature, we had fresh fruits from the market for breakfast and went to visit the neighborhood. We made friends with local people from the fisherman's village and they took us out to fish on their boat. The little short walks to the beach where you can enjoy a local coffee, fruit juice or cocktail were our daily habit. Yes, we will return again. Because of all of the above. And because of the good price-quality!

Mama folonko es el lugar ideal para disfrutar en plena naturaleza de playas virgenes y puestas de sol espectaculares en el mar. Un entorno muy autentico!! En la playa reina la calma con solo algunos turistas y algunos locales que transitan por ella. En mama folonko tambien se puede disfrutar de intimidad y privacidad en los bungalows con terraza y vistas al mar El restaurante y las zonas comunes son muy amplias y todo el personal super atento, en todo momento han solventado mis necesidades o dudas. Las cenas con vistas a la puesta de sol son in momento mágico! Jerreh, el chico que gestiona el establecimiento, ha estado en todo momento pendiente de que la estancia en el lugar cumpla con las espectativas. Me ha mostrando los lugares de interés de la zona, y me ha ayudando con el transporte. Todo ello una gran experiencia en el sur de Gambia!! Gracias mama folonko!!

Highly recommended place! Situated far enough out in the bush to have Your peace and quiet, but at the same time close enough to the village and the beach to get there within 15 to 20min walking distance. The room with the ensuite bathroom was just fabulous. The cleanliness extraordinary since the room was cleaned every day. Malika's kitchen was free to use at leisure and one always was welcome to have a chat or even share meals at her table - the real African 'teranga'! The solar powered electricity and the fully equipped European toilet added to the comfort out in the bush. Although one can enjoy his privacy, the place is at the same time ideal for groups and there is enough space. It even was possible to take some private Kora lessons there and apparently soon Yoga retreats will be taking place there.

This place is just amazing. Such a beautiful retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. The sounds of the ocean and birds help send you into a state of calm and happiness. The house if full of wonderful curiosities, the veranda offers a beach view on one side and a more 'tropical' vibe of birds and cicadas on the other; with the sound of the ocean in the background. Just a 2 minute walk through the grounds to the beach, and this itself is peaceful and generally free of sellers. Emilie has an established property which locals appear to respect so you don't get hassle. The meals there were delicious but for choice there are a couple of restaurants within 10 min walk along the beach; all serving lovely Gambian dishes as well as your normal pizza, chips etc. All food is caught, picked on the same day so as fresh as can be. The array of fishing boats on the beach is a sight not to miss and the sunsets are beautiful. This is quite possibly the best beach front accommodation in the country!

Ma famille et moi avons passé un excellent séjour, au calme, à deux pas de la plage, un magnifique jardin. Nous avons pu observer de nombreuses espèces d’oiseaux. Pour les repas Nathalie nous a indiqué de très bonnes adresses. Demba, le gardien +++ est adorable. Nathalie est franchement une belle personne elle nous reverra très certainement.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Papou in Casamance. Correspondence has been taken over by Luc who was quick to respond to questions and extremely helpful. In Senegal, we were met at the nearby village by Gerard the caretaker who is very kind and highly knowledgeable about the region. Nene the cook/maid served us dishes from Casamance which were delicious. If you don't have a car it is far from the nearest village but Gerard can get you what you need or arrange a taxi. Both Gerard and Nene were thoughtful and generous and made our stay very special. The house and surrounding area is beautiful. There are actually two buildings, one with the bedrooms and en suite bathrooms and another for the kitchen and outdoor dining/lounge area. It is a relaxing, peaceful location, close to the ocean and a great place to bird watch! We definitely want to return!

La casa es preciosa, la gente que te recibe ha sido muy amable

L’hôte (MIKE) est très accueillant, bon contact avec les clients. L’emplacement est juste idéal, en face de la mer isolé, prévoyez votre internet ( pas de connexion wifi). Chambre simple parfait pour passer un séjour coupé du monde. Si vous souhaitez rester plus longtemps n’hésitez pas à demander de quoi vous faire à manger. Je recommande ce lieu et merci Mike pour tes conseils utiles pour le reste du voyage.

Un petit coin très préservé sur une dune et deux cases juste derrière, protégées du vent. C'est un bel endroit isoler pour se reposer et profiter de la plage. C'est très simple et authentique comme sur les photos. La case bénéficie d'une salle de bain avec lavabo, wc et douche. Lamine est très bon cuisinier. A ce prix difficile de trouver mieux...
