If you're looking to enjoy nature and disconnect, this is the place! So close to the Breaks interstate Park (5 minutes?), which is filled with great hiking. And the cabin is perfect for family fun - ping pong tournaments and Ms. PacMan! - plus a hot tub for post hike relaxing. This part of VA is very remote so there are not a ton of restaurants nearby so come prepared! That said, the kitchen is stocked with everything you could need!

If you decide to explore Breaks Interstate Park and the Crooked Road, consider staying at this newly renovated apartment in Virginia. The ground-level accommodations (very comfortable) feature a spacious bedroom with two queen-size beds, a kitchenette with seating area, and a bathroom with shower and washer-dryer. The location, which overlooks a river and rolling hills, is only 8 miles from Virginia’s “Grand Canyon.” The Crooked Road leads visitors to attractions including the Ralph Stanley Museum, the Carter Family Fold, and the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Our host was welcoming and eager to meet our needs. The town of Haysi, Virginia, offers a small grocery store, restaurants, shops, and a gas station. We would certainly consider staying there again.

We were looking for a place to stay while we engaged in sport and trad climbing in the Breaks Interstate Park. This lovely home was under 10 minutes away from the park. The home has an excellent kitchen where we prepared a group dinner each night. The kitchen had a double oven, large micro wave, large refrigerator and a prep island that met all our needs. All the rooms were clean and the home itself was very relaxing to be in. If you are interested in climbing at the Breaks, I recommend you choose this Airbnb home for your trip. There are other out door activities available at the Breaks Interstate Park and surroundings. Like Mountain Bike trails, Kayaking, Fishing and Hiking. The views are impressive. With just a week to explore, we focused on Rock Climbing, but we got in a number of good hikes in a peaceful and uncrowded woodland. My thanks to the owner for making the home available.

My family's absolute favorite Airbnb in Pike County...and we have stayed in many. The yard was wonderful. House was pristine, well stocked, and we slept like a rock in the beds. It's a bit remote, but got a good vibe from the well kept properties around the holler. Minor complaint was that drivers like to fly around the corner down the holler, but does not take away from the quiet. Insanely great pricing for the size and amenities.

Lovely home, with plenty of space for the family. My boys loved the kids room and bunk beds! Elkhorn was peaceful and beautiful. I didn’t get a chance to check out the Breaks park but maybe next time! I did see some elk on the side of the road though and that made the whole trip for me!

This was such a perfect place to stay!! I love everything about this place and hopefully will be back soon.

Amy and Driftwood Cottage are always amazing! This is our 2nd year there and will continue to stay there. Fully stocked kitchen, bathroom and comfy beds. She even has fresh firewood and chairs set up around the fire pit out by the river if you’d like to sit out in the yard and enjoy the evening. Couldn’t ask for a better host! Was a fantastic experience very clean and the host was very helpful would most definitely recommend. Price is very good for the area and several fantastic locations to go to around. Got to see a chicken jockey while there was very cool.
