This hidden gem provides a couples retreat with use of private hot-tub. Offering peace and tranquillity in a spacious modern setting. The Barn and adjoining house are over 300 years old the property being a former Gincase We are located in a small hamlet yet close to the local ammenities found in Cockermouth, Carlisle and the Harbour Town of Maryport, ideal for exploring the Solway Firth with views over to Scotland with its beautiful sandy beaches or perfect for visiting the Lakes and Fells.

Rose Cottage, cosy village hideout

Explore the coast, lakes and fells all in one visit. This cosy, charming cottage sleeps 2 people & infant. A log burner warms you in winter or in Summer enjoy relaxing in the pretty rear yard. Situated in a rural village with pub between the Lake District & Coast. With easy access to the Western Lakes & Fells as well as the more popular Lake District towns of Keswick, Windermere and Ambleside as well as the beautiful Solway Coast, Gilcrux is an ideal base to explore Cumbria whatever the weather.

The Carriage - A first class experience

Step back in time to this restored 1950's Pullman railway carriage, with the added luxury of 21st century amenities. The Carriage is set on tracks where the original line ran through Ullock on the fringe of the Lake District National Park, with the river Marron running below. Relive a unique journey with the addition of being able to step out onto the platform for sunbathing, breakfast or your evening meal then retire to the antique king sized bed with dressing room, ensuite and Eden toiletries.

Luxury Glamping Pods (No pets)

Based on the edge of the beautiful Lake District with commanding panoramic views of the Western Fells , here at Wellington Farm Glamping Breaks our 6 pods are fully fitted with electrics, heating, lighting, an ensuite and kitchenette. Our pods sleep 4 people (2 adults, 2 children). We provide all bedding and towels for your stay. We've even gone the extra mile by installing 7ft hydrotherapy hot tubs at each of our pods which allows our guests to fully appreciate the panoramic views of the fells.

Charming, cosy Salkeld Cottage

Salkeld Cottage is in the village of Gilcrux, near Cockermouth and situated between the Solway coast & Lake District park, ideal for walkers & pet owners. There is a local pub withing walking distance. The cottage is part of a barn conversion along with 5 other cottages which accommodate 1 couple each. It features an open fire, four poster bed and steam cubicle. Guests can privately hire the hydro therapy hot tub (Please see other details to note for information on booking the hot tub)

Traditional shepherd's hut with views to Skiddaw

The hut is set in the middle of a family farm, forget about your busy lives and sit back and relax in this peaceful location ideal for a romantic retreat, with views up the Lorton valley ,cozy up into front of the wood burning stove and plan your adventure for the next day. The hut has no electricity but has solar lights, and a separate composting toilet, all bed linen is provide along with wood for the stove. A breakfast hamper will be delivered to your door in the morning

Lakes cottage with stunning view & private hot tub

Welcome to Highside a delightful cottage set in a secluded location overlooking the tranquil village of Lorton. Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Newcroft Shepherd’s Hut

Beautiful new bespoke Shepherds Hut, situated in an iydillic, peaceful location with views over the Solway Firth & Criffel. The Hut is equipped with everything needed to ensure an amazing, memorable stay in luxurious accommodation with heating, comfy sofa, fire and TV. There is an additional outside seating area, please ask in advance if the BBQ is required. There is Tea, Coffee, Sugar and Milk provided in the Shepherds Hut. Sorry, no children.

The Old Byre

The Old Byre, luxury 5* barn conversion with Gold award. Ideally situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park and The Solway Coast AONB Two bedroom cottage with family bathroom, ideal for couples or families. Oil central heating, fully equipped kitchen, furnished & decorated to a very high standard. Great views of the Lake District fells. Private outdoor Jacuzzi. Safe, secure parking in the courtyard right outside the front door.

Toddell Barn

Toddell Barn forms part of our traditional Lakeland longhouse farm, built in approximately 1710. Toddell Barn sits within approximately 7 acres of agricultural land that helps attract a wide variety of wildlife. Toddell Barn is located in the hamlet of Brandlingill (2 miles south of Cockermouth) and is within the northern boundary of The Lake District National Park, categorised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.

Skiddaw Mire House

Skiddaw is perfect for romantic, cosy nights away and to explore the beautiful picturess mountains right outside your door! This takes Glamping to a new level. Head outside to the private dining area overlooking Blencathra which is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine after a day of exploring or a soak in the hot tub reading a good book.
