A stylish, sun-filled townhouse just minutes by car from the city centre. Stunning views of Launceston and the Tamar River can be seen through the treetops and in the distance forested mountain slopes. Across the road, a trail leads down through Cataract Gorge. The property is surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest which is a result of the protracted Jackeys Marsh Forest Protests. The fresh air, crystal clear water, abundant wildlife and pristine environment are all environmental values prized by the people of Jackeys Marsh. Relax on the deck, explore the river bank and have a fish off the jetty or even a swim (shoes on and check the tide) Deviot is 30 minutes from Launceston city, close to many boutique wineries. But when you are relaxing in your chalet you'll feel million miles from anywhere.

#birdhousestudiostas are two modern unique architectural, one bedroom houses hovering on a steeply sloping site with extraordinary views to the east over Launceston and the mountains beyond. Each studio has an individual personality inspired by the qualities of its site and a desire to create a sustainable buildings with the lowest possible carbon footprint and environmental impact. This accomodation will appeal to those with a design interest in architecture.

Eco self contained cottage in a garden.

This mini 1 bedroom house was our trial run in building our main home using passive house principles. We are approx 1 km from the centre of Westbury in a rural location. (You may be lucky enough to sight some of our local wildlife during your stay!) The cottage is suitable for a couple, however portacot , inflatable toddler mattress and camp bed for children are available on request. We provide a library of information about sustainability for guest perusal.

We are located just 10 minutes from the city, where the iconic Tamar Valley Wine Route begins and the unique Tamar Island Wetlands provide one of the most popular visitor attractions in Northern Tasmania.
