Ferienunterkünfte in Hurunui River

We stumbled on Brian's log cabin by accident after a change in our travel arrangements and ended up staying for four blissful nights. Brian was an amazing host throughout and responsive to our needs...he even helped change a flat tire discovered on the morning we were due to drive to Christchurch Airport. The log cabin is a unique structure with a mezzanine floor (for sleeping) surrounded on all sides by native beech forest. Lots of bellbirds, silvereyes and fantails...and a South Island robin couple who hung around. Mrs Robin came inside to say Hi. We love the feel of natural wood, the remoteness, the amazing lighting, the innovate water heating and the range of herbs and spices. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped. Staying here was also a wonderful introduction to the Hurunui area.

A beautiful log cabin with cosy fireplace and fully functioning kitchen. The birdsong in the morning is lovely and a great place to spot black robins, piwakawaka and yellow eye birds.

We haver stayed at Olivia's place before. It is convenient, with a short walk into the village, has lots of space and great air con for all weathers. Very comfortable and with everything you might need.

A beautiful place to stay, in a lovely quiet location. There’s nearby walking tracks, gorgeous views and (perhaps thanks to the time of year) hardly anyone else staying in the nearby accommodations on the mountain. It was so peaceful! The house is very well appointed, cosy and very alpine in feel. Thank you for allowing dogs to stay too. We know many AirBnBs don’t allow this - as we don’t travel in NZ without the pup your generosity here meant we could enjoy the mountain. Otherwise we’d have had to stay elsewhere (so a smart business move too, guys!) All round - fabulous!

We had a lovely night at George’s Road Winepod. We were welcomed with a tasting by the beautiful owners - and tour of the winery. The Winepod and hot tub were simply excellent. We paid extra for dinner, but breakfast was included and this was all so wonderful and tasty. Our only sadness is that we did not stay for longer. Hoping to be back again for a longer stay. We would thoroughly recommend.

This is a wonderful house set in a peaceful area filled with birdsong . It is very comfortable with everything you could need ! The fire is amazing ang keeps the house very warm and cosy. It is a short walk to the beautiful Hamner forest and an equally easy 10 min walk to the hot pools . I highly recommend staying here .

Three couples stayed for three days. Was a great space with room to spread out and lots of places to come together or spread out. Lovely facilities and it had everything we needed and more. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay with 4 adults and 2 1yr olds was great. Richard sorted out a high chair last minute and portacot was available at the house which worked well. Serene location looking out over the hills from the spacious deck and plenty of bird life. Could have done with a few more amenities such as salt and kindling/firestarters, however, the ducted heat pump did an amazing job of heating the whole house. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed our stay at this home. It had everything we needed for our stay and was very comfortable for all the age range in our group. We could walk into the village to enjoy everything that Hanmer Springs has to offer. This was a most enjoyable stay. Thanks.
