Because the house is perfectly situated between downtown and Washington Park it is ideal for those doing business in the city center or tourists visiting the historic sites. My goal is to offer a comfortable , unique, and satisfying experience for all my guests.

There are four bedrooms each with a full bath and their own unique style. A full kitchen, dining room, front room furnished with piano & base, side parlor, library, vault, front & back porch and many sitting areas available for your enjoyment. Just a 1/2 mile walk through a historic neighborhood to our beautiful downtown Galesburg.

Historic Poehlman House - 1st floor bedroom

The Historic Poehlman house was finished in 1898 by Conrad Poehlman. Hand crafted into the hillside directly across from Abraham Lincoln’s tomb and rolling hills of the beautiful Oakridge Cemetery. Mr. Poehlman raised 7 boys and 3 girls in the 3 story brick home. Standing tall and modest at the very end of the street of a very quiet neighborhood. The rooms are spacious but cozy enough to make you feel right at home.
