We are repeat guests at Pook's Place, and we're always excited to return. The house, neighborhood, hosts, and location are all great. We'll be returning every year!

Staying at this Airbnb felt like a true escape. The location couldn't have been better – being mere steps from the beach was such a treat, allowing for spontaneous walks and the calming sound of the waves. It was wonderful to find such a genuinely dog-friendly place; my pups absolutely loved it, which made the stay even more enjoyable for me. The entire atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and I found the off-season to be a particularly lovely time to visit, with beautiful weather and a sense of peacefulness. The property itself had everything I could possibly need, making it easy to settle in and feel comfortable. Amy was fantastic – always communicative and helpful, ensuring a smooth and easy stay. While there were plenty of options for things to do in the area, I also appreciated the opportunity to simply unwind and work remotely in such a serene setting. The upper deck was my favorite spot for getting sun many hours of the day. I’ve stayed in many airbnbs and this is a favorite!

This home exceeded our expectations! The location of this home was just beautiful. The home itself was very roomy yet cozy for 2 families with 3 children to enjoy. It was also super clean. This Airbnb had the best equipped kitchen i’ve ever seen in a rental with plenty of good quality pots, pans, dishes bowls, various glassware for cocktails, and grilling tools. Even plenty of plastic dishes for kids, ziplock bags and plastic wrap! No detail was forgotten. There are plenty of areas to enjoy meals or just hang out inside the house , out on the deck or on the patio. I also wanted to mention there were plenty of towels, extra pillows and bedding for all 7 of us. I didn’t have any issues but reached out to Matthew to let him know we were very pleased with his home and he responded right away. Matthew’s home provided us with the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful family vacation in Emerald Isle and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

This place was perfect for my wife and our dogs! Beachfront location is amazing! Updated, beautiful & fully stocked kitchen was helpful. Host was extremely responsive, very timely and answered all our questions. We will definitely look into staying here again!

We took our four adult kids to the beach for the weekend, and this place was just right! We used every balcony, got our exercise on the stairs, walked to the beach several times, cooked several meals and relaxed. We loved the views! The beds were comfortable, and everything was truly clean or else my family members with sensitive allergies would have been bothered. The dog next door was always contained, looked sweet, and only barked to say hi when we were coming and going. You may want to reference the tide charts online before taking your beach gear down or planning a walk. Most of the day and night are available for playing, walking, and hanging out on the beautiful beach, but because of erosion there are moments when there is more surf than sand. It's a lovely, comfortable, family-oriented place!

The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for comfort. We used every deck! Super close to the beach, beautiful peaceful view of the sound. It had everything we could possibly need. Karen sent recommendations for food and they did not disappoint! Loved our stay!

This place was exactly as listed. The access to the beach made it so easy. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will definitely return.

Will visit again! The location can’t get any better if you want to be right on the beach when you open the backdoor.

We had a fantastic stay at Erin and Jeremy's place over Easter weekend. Everything was as described and Erin and Jeremy were very responsive when we did have an issue (needed to restart the router for the internet). More over, either they themselves are very honorable or their cleaners are, because less than two hours after we'd left I received a text from Jeremy asking if we had left some valuable jewelry in one of the bathrooms. One of our guests had, and they were able to quickly make arrangements with Jeremy to have them shipped to their house. It shouldn't dissuade you from booking, but it is worth mentioning that the shared deck on the main floor is very much shared. The partition doesn't extend very far out so you'll likely get very familiar with the renters next to you. Not a big deal for us, but something to consider. Beach access is quick and easy. Well-stocked kitchen. Overall, we had an excellent visit and would definitely recommend this place for any Topsail renters!

The townhouse was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed ! The location was amazing and check in was extremely easy !

Perfect location for a Thanksgiving get away. Super close to the ocean and the little downtown area. Access to Morehead City and beautiful Beaufort is just minutes away. The house efficiently packs 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with a fully loaded kitchen. Beautiful sunsets and amazing ocean walks. Communication with Steve is a solid 10!!!

Great place and fantastic location. End unit on a townhouse with a shared pool and public beach access, but still felt private and you're on the beach in seconds...you couldn't get any closer! The deck with view was absolutely stunning and perfect of you enjoy people watching :) The host was very responsive and helpful; I particularly liked the list of local eats/activities (I would have underlined Shaka Taco if I had a piece of chalk!). Definitely recommend!

The place exceeding our expectations. It was easy to get into when we checked in. We had five adults and two children (ages 2 and 6) in our family. My 80 year old mother was with as well. The elevator was a life saver for her. The layout allowed the parents and children to have the entire 2nd floor to themselves. Great grandma also stayed on the 2nd floor as there were 3 bedrooms and two full bathrooms on this floor. The 4th floor was a great place to hang out, play games, and put a huge puzzle together. It also had an amazing sleep space, although we did not need it. The full bathroom on this floor was also much appreciated. The kitchen was amazing, having everything we needed to cook and enjoy meals together throughout the week. The beach was very close (3 min walk) on a nice boarded walk way with no traffic or worries as we walked with little ones daily. The pool was very close as well and made a great alternative when kids tired of the beach. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay we came for my son birthday and had an amazing time at the beach and a beautiful home right near the beach, only downside the pool was closed but other than that everything was perfect.

Our stay was nice and relaxing. Alyssa provided more than any Airbnb I've been to. Paper towels, toilet paper, bath and hand towels and wash cloths (that are absorbant!), large soft beach towels, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, hand soap, laundry detergent and dish washing detergent. And other than cleanliness, perhaps one of the most important things (for me), no fragrances! No plugins, scent-free detergent, no linens or towels dried with overpowering dryer sheets, no lingering perfume scent in the washer or dryer. Beds and couches were very comfortable. Because of the extra thought put into the space, it was stress and headache free. The view of the sunset was beautiful and the private beach access across the street was very convenient. This place is going into my "favorites" wish list for the future.

I felt like I was right at home! I didn’t have to take tons of time to get familiar with things because of the labeling. It might seem simple but made the best experience. Light switches, beach towels, pots and pans. Everything labeled so I could go straight to what I needed. The private beach entrance and easily accessible beach accessories made beach day so much fun. We will definitely be back to Carolina Castaway!

What a peaceful retreat this home is! With the sound out the back & a short walk to the beach, situated on a quiet cul-de-sac this home, with its unique architecture, is a perfect blend of feeling a bit remote without being isolated. We loved staying at Emily’s place! Our whole extended family was comfortable & we especially loved the kid room. The location can’t be beat!

It was exactly as pictured! The heated pool and beach were amazing (even in mid-April)!! It was accessible for my parents (chair lift to main level and king bedroom/bath on main level) and fun for the kids (bunk room had many games and puzzles). Restaurants and stores are a short drive away. The beach is not accessible for everyone as you have to walk over the dunes without any kind of handrails. But my parents didn’t feel they missed a thing as the ocean views and sounds from the many decks of the house were breathtaking. We would definitely suggest this house for families and would love to come back!

A beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Very spacious and comfy for a large group. Steps from the ocean. Jeremiah was very accommodating and responsive.

We loved our stay here! Andy was responsive and friendly. The house is exactly as pictured and only steps from the beach. You can hear the waves from the porch. House was clean and had everything we needed to make dinner/lunch. Would highly recommend booking this stay, we will be back!

Loved this week and Samantha was very responsive to our questions throughout the week. We loved how close to the beach we were and how quiet our surroundings were all week even being in a townhouse with neighbors on both sides. Lots of amenities from beach gear to bathroom hand soap to kitchen needs.

The place was great for our family of 6. Every person had a bath towel and one wash cloth. The decks were great to sit outside for the sunrise! The kitchen amenities aren’t specifically listed, but they are enough if you want to do a bit of cooking. Bring your own beach towels - 2 are provided. We loved how quiet this place was down on the sound end of the island. It is a clean and cute place! We’d definitely come here again, though we were a bit put off that there are three hosts listed and no one responded to the two messages with questions that we sent before and during our stay.
