As featured on the NYTimes T list, this property is a "Kyomachiya", a traditional Japanese home over 100 years old. It has been revamped from a "Nishijin-ori" (traditional Japanese textile) factory. It is located in the traditional Kamigyo Ward, minutes walk from the Imperial Palace. We collaborated with award winning architects at Ikken to renovate this space, which now accommodates the comforts of modern life, while retaining many of the original structure and elements from its past.

We offer four bicycles free of charge for you to explore the charming backstreets that buses cannot reach. 'SAIGU' is a distinctly quaint 120-year-old Kyoto Machiya in the north-west area of Kyoto city. In 2010, the house was carefully and lovingly restored to its original beautiful style. It has four bedrooms so can accommodate 4 people comfortably, or 8 people max. The house is about 92 square meters.
