Marianne’s place was peaceful perfection. We were looking for an escape from the busy city, and this guest house on the farm was better than our imagination. The location was gorgeous with beautiful sunrises and sunsets, sweet farm animals to pet and woodland creatures to view from the windows. The house itself is very roomy and cozy with a lot of great space to read, hang out, watch TV or have a meal. The kitchen was very well stocked with great appliances, cooking pots/pans/utensils and dishes. AND the farm fresh eggs were delicious and plentiful! The hosts were also warm, friendly and gracious. We want to come back on a future visit!!!

Had a great time here! Blanc is very responsive to any questions or concerns that may come up. The house is nice for a larger family to stay at.

Our family needed a place to tend to family. The house was perfect. It matched the description, everything was well labeled, and the coffee bar was a nice surprise. I couldn’t say enough good things. I will stay again when in area.

What a beautiful home! It is a warm and welcoming, beautifully restored house in Elgin’s historic district. Just walking in we were struck by the cleanliness, warmth and charm. Bob & Beth’s sweet hospitality extended to snack and coffee selections on the counter. The beds were exceptionally cozy and soft, the bathroom was clean and updated and the kitchen had all we needed. Bob tipped us off to a local grocery store (Buteras) and we cooked several meals at home. We also took them up in two local restaurant recommendations & they were great! (Alexander’s and Thai Town.) If you have a chance to book this home - DO IT! :) We did not want to leave. Five stars +++

Lovely house and family! Location is good for long term travellers in need of private location for stay. close to several parks and locations. Well behaved dogs and kind hosts. Supplies provided for cleaning and care. Loved this stay!

I loved this little place, so clean and well cared for. The bathroom floor was amazing and the heated towel rack wonderful. I would definitely try to stay there again if we ever go back to that part of Illinois again. Thank you Andy!

I stayed at Sarah’s place while waiting to move overseas & it was a great experience. She was a very responsive host, sends you a e-booklet with instructions & recommendations & the place looks exactly like the photos. Location was good & is within 10 or 15 minutes of Route 59 (shops/restaurants), downtown Aurora, downtown Naperville, interstate 88 etc. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our weekend at the Chain O’ Lakes Beach Penthouse and would definitely recommend it! The lake view from the large upper deck was stunning—sunsets over the water were a real highlight. The space was clean, matched the listing, and had everything we needed for cooking and relaxing. There was even plenty of propane for the grill and fire table, which made hanging out in the evening really enjoyable. Even though the unit is above a beach bar, it wasn’t a problem. The music added a fun energy without being disruptive, and the vibe downstairs actually made the place feel lively in a good way. The neighborhood itself was quiet and welcoming, and even the neighbors were friendly. We appreciated the little touches like board and card games, and communication with the host was smooth—quick responses and easy check-in made everything simple. This place is great if you're looking for a relaxing lakeside getaway with a social atmosphere nearby. We'd happily stay again!
