This neighborhood is the place where you will meet the Parisians. It offers good public transportation options, nice restaurants and great parks. You may hear that it is unsafe but within the 19th arrondissement it’s uneventful. You will find at your doorsteps: great bakeries, lots of Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. In the summertime, you will join Parisians sunbathing in the Parc des Buttes Chaumont.

My favorite park of Paris, the Buttes Chamont is dog friendly, has several restaurants and bars andoffers great views from the east, especially at sunset. It's perfect as well if you are on a budget. Enjoy a picnic with friends all while taking in the lush setting.
