Trastevere is a characteristic and original neighbourhood with a bohemian atmosphere that has its roots in the working class for centuries. This district is starting to become more and more fashionable and even a bit 'hipster', but for now it still retains all its original charm. Here you will be (relatively) sheltered from the crowds as you discover its typical narrow, flower-filled streets. There are no particular historical monuments here as opposed to the rest of Rome, but you will discover a true 'Italian' neighbourhood with its inhabitants and local shops.

Trastevere is home to some of the best hidden gems of Rome. From historical churches and fresh food markets to some of the city’s coolest bars and restaurants. With lots of places to eat and drink, day and night, you won’t be short of places to stop and grab a slice of pizza, a gelato, or a glass of vino Rosso.
