Anacostia is a historic neighborhood in Southeast Washington, D.C.. It's one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, and is known for being artsy, residential, and nature-rich. The neighborhood is named after the Anacostia River, which borders it to the east. The district includes about 550 buildings and 20 squares that were built between 1854 and 1930.
