The location is truly as beautiful as the photos show. So many special touches from decor to the spa like bathroom made the stay extra cozy. The house is extremely well stocked, especially the kitchen and the shed! We loved kayaking. Much more shallow than we anticipated which for us was perfect. The stars were visible while in the hot tub at night. We loved all the available spots to sit and relax. We used the fire pit to stay warm one morning while enjoying the sunrise with our coffee. We used the grill for dinner one night as well as dining out at the recommended local spots. The only minor inconveniences were not having screens on the sliding doors, running out of toilet paper (but the DG grocery is close) and the WiFi went out and Robert never responded to my texts. (I was able to locate and restart the router on my own.) All in all it was a wonderful spot for a quick getaway to unwind!

This is the second time we have stayed at Rhoda’s home. If anything, I think it was ever better the second time. I can’t explain how she is able to do it, but her home truly does feel like returning home. It’s private and secure. You will never be disappointed when staying at her home. Thank you so much Rhoda.

We got a combined two floor apartment (end unit so it was very private) with plenty of space for each of my friends to have their own beds. The back porch and patio were very private and had a beautiful view of the backyard. I would highly recommend this listing!

We had a great time, the house was very clean and Anne was an excellent host. She was very detailed and responded right away.

Our family had a wonderful time staying at Cristy's home! Everything was updated, super clean, so roomy and so comfortable. The kitchen is so huge and where we tend to hang out as a family so it was great. Bedrooms were roomy and very comfortable. And the bathrooms were updated and had these lovely nightlights. I always bring my own but didn't need them because of this thoughtful touch. And the cats Fred, Betty and Barney were adorable and so easy to care for with just a little food, water and love. The location was great for our trips to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. It was close enough to get there quickly, but far enough away that we didn't feel like we were in a tourist trap but in a real neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again!

Sadia’s home on the river is a beautiful home in a very private and serene location. The house has been beautifully renovated for today’s comforts but it oozes with historical charm. The bedrooms worked out well for our needs for 5 adults. The house had a large kitchen for gathering, a cozy den for board games, a screened in back porch, and a lovely dock to sit by the water. We also enjoyed the fire pit while taking in the amazing stars. It really is such a special location. Kilmarnock is not too far away and offers shops snd restaurants but be aware that most businesses are closed on Sunday so do your town exploring on Saturday. We did run into a major plumbing issue upon our arrival. Sadia was extremely responsive and had a contractor at the house within an hour. Unfortunately the issue was not easily resolvable during our stay so we had limited water usage. Sadia was very easy to work with and we received a credit for our stay. It is truly a lovely home with a wonderful host.

We thoroughly enjoyed our comfortable, peaceful stay in this house and took advantage of the waterfront for fishing off the dock and canoeing in the bay. The open plan kitchen and family room were great for relaxing and the picture windows were spectacular. While the kitchen is well equipped for home cooking, we highly recommend a visit to the Merroir Tasting Room and Deltaville Tap & Rawbar.

This is a lovely home would definitely recommend only thing that was a little bit odd was the size of the bed upstairs and it wasn’t many pots and pans but we love our stay

This home was beautiful, wonderful, and relaxing. The view from the house is so gorgeous and secluded. You really feel like you are on vacation. Of course our host was responsive and proactive. But as a busy mom with two little kids I have to highlight how particularly child friendly this home is! We stayed upstairs which has 2 bedrooms with a jack and Jill bath in between. My boys loved having two single beds at a height they could easily get into and I loved not worrying about them falling out of a gigantic bed. There were toys in the chest of their room with working batteries! Unreal! There was a mini table and chairs. Games and books spanned multiple ages and both my 4 yo and my 6 yo found games to play. My kids are sensitive to cold water (the little one turns blue!) and the heated pool was a HUGE hit. We never even made it to using the kayaks because the kids just wanted to be in the pool. There were even pool toys. I am running out of characters for this review! We will be back!
