A beautiful getaway and a great find! We stayed six days, exploring nearby towns across the Gippsland plains. Walhalla and its heritage train were a standout, as was Maffco Brewery in Maffra which is such a great spot! We also loved Glenmaggie Dam and Glenmaggie Winery (now one of our top favourites), plus the Glengarry markets and pub, and a delicious meal at the Tinamba Hotel. The River Cottage was easy to find, peaceful, and well-equipped. The kitchen had more than just the basics, which made it so easy for us to cook proper meals. The hosts were warm and welcoming, especially their dog Penny, who played with our two pups every day! Evenings by the fire or watching movies on the couch made it a perfect escape. We even kayaked along the river. Do watch out for mozzies after dark, but closing up early did the trick. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a cosy base to explore this stunning region.

A wonderful, well equipped Log cabin in a spectacular location, with lots to do in the area. Great support and advice from Rosie and Peter. We highly recommend the Buchan Log Cabins for a relaxing get-away.

Wonderful place to stay with bonus being pet friendly. Melanie is a great host who understands what makes a stay comfortable and enjoyable.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Val and Andy's. The place had everything we needed plus more. It's just the place to unwind and relax in a rural setting. The hosts definitely go above and beyond!

We absolutely loved our stay! The view was stunning and made the remote location feel wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. At the end of our stay, we had the delightful opportunity to visit the orchard and pick fresh apples and avocados - a lovely personal touch. We wish Debbie and Graham all the best and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a serene getaway.

We stayed here on our honeymoon for 9 nights- and it was a wonderful stay. The Barn was nice and cozy on the rainy days, and the breakfast supplies left for us were fantastic. We highly recommend seeing the camels and kayaking; they were some of the highlights from our visit. Bernie and Diana were lovely and welcoming hosts, providing all we needed and more.

We had a lovely stay at the farm. The house was clean and tidy and suited two families well. The location was really central to the beautiful Gippsland Lakes region. Only a short trip to Lakes Entrance and surrounding townships. The kids loved feeding the resident sheep and enjoyed the enclosed garden space too for a play during the day. Christine was a great host, everything was well set up and she was really easy to communicate with. Would recommend to others for sure.

Johns property has the wow factor, from the views, the property and the accommodation. Everything inside has been thought out with care and makes it feel so special. This is not just a place to stay it’s an experience!!!!

Robyn’s house exceeded our expectations by a landslide!! The house is absolutely stunning, Robyn has thought of every little thing that you may need, from every kind of kitchen utensil to laundry bags and soaps. The bed was so comfy and the house was cleaner than any hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Not a single spec of dirt anywhere, even the outdoor bath was immaculate (and so lush!!). Finally, Robyn as a host may just be the most considerate Airbnb host EVER. We entered the house to find homemade ice cream, beer and wine, crackers and dip, honey and jams etc. The generosity and thoughtfulness of these hosts is next level and I cannot thank them enough for making our stay so comfortable and special. We will absolutely be back, thank you Robyn!! 😊

Angela and Neil's location was sensational. The place oozed quality and cleanliness with a lot of space that was terrific for my wife and I to relax and unwind. There was so much accurate and useful information to do bushwalks or use a water taxi and how to use every appliance that was there, along with them having thought of every need of their guests. The welcoming was amazing with a nice surprise waiting for us in the fridge. The surrounds were immaculate and we had an amazing walk around the property and just loved every moment of it. Truly enjoyed this so much and could not be more happy with the choice we made.

This is one of the best places I have stayed in with airbnb. Feels like we got more than what we paid for. Such a luxurious relaxing vibe, beautiful sunsets and nightly bonfires. Lynn was so accessible and kind, my mother even asked her for the brand of her mattresses. Very comfy! Will definitely come back.

The most relaxing and nurturing space. I felt so welcomed by Flick and Steve, and their niece Sara and her bff who introduced me to all of the animals. The cottage had everything I needed - it was spotless and modern with a homely feeling: had a fireplace, tele, and a big bath with a view into the paddock. Close to the beach, too, which was great for walking and collecting shells. Pancake mix, milk, cereal, butter etc., bathrobes, firewood, and carrots to feed the Highland cows were all provided! I cooked with eggs from the farm everyday (which were delicious) and I was even gifted a carton to take home. Flick put the heating on for me when I arrived which was so thoughtful. Overall, so generous - such kind people and a lovely space. This was exactly what I needed - thank you all so much 🥰

We had a great stay at Nerissa’s house, a relaxed and beautiful home that the whole family enjoyed. We loved how comfortable and spacious it was, and the kids loved having the friendly cows in the backyard. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We stayed for one night at Sarah & Sekove's place while on a roadtrip. . The farm stay was amazing, so peaceful and beautiful surroundings! Got to watch an amazing sunset and the stars! The house was clean and had everything we possibly needed. Sarah and Sekove was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had during our stay. Will definitely be coming back!

Absolutely stunning place! Everything was perfect from the get go! Lynn met us at the property and showed us around and was in constant communication and went as far as giving us advice on what to do each day! The fridge was stocked up with lovely goodies and the amenities in the pantry were fantastic. The place itself was amazingly spectacular with some stunning views, not to mention how remarkably clean it was too!! The location was fantastic too only a 5 minute drive to orbost town which has everything! There is no doubt we will stay again! (We actually extended our stay by a day purely because of how awesome the place was as well!).

This was my second time staying there, so I knew I would love it. We ended up with the water-facing view which was even better this time. We brought all the food we'd need and Kristen generously provided homemade granola, crackers and bread throughout our three days (and we had a teenager with us). Perfect weather meant we could get up with the birds, enjoy the water, go off and enjoy the koalas on the other side of the island (not to mention the kangaroos all around the property), which made for great days. Drawbacks to keep in mind: bedrooms are up a steepish flight of stairs and the bathroom, while functional is small and awkward (it was clearly an add-on from a different era). These were not dealbreakers for us at all - and this was true in the other unit there, so I suspected it was similar and came back anyway. The splendid outweighs the inconvenient by a mile.

We had the pleasure of staying at Peter and Donrita’s beautiful farm-style Airbnb for a night, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel incredibly welcome with their warmth and hospitality. Peter’s knowledge about farming was truly fascinating, and we thoroughly enjoyed learning from him during our stay. It was evident that he is deeply passionate about his work, and his insights were both educational and inspiring. The house itself was stunning—spacious, tastefully designed, and surrounded by the serene beauty of the countryside. Every corner of the property reflected the love and care they put into maintaining it. The service was exceptional, and the hospitality extended to us went above and beyond expectations. We left with fond memories and a greater appreciation for farm life. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tranquil escape with gracious hosts and an enriching experience.

Great location for a few days of family skiing. Lovely casual home, classic video collection and games are a bonus

it was a lovely experience during our stay Jo and Mark made us feel very welcome. the accommodation is very clean and well-maintained with utilities that make us feel that make the guests feel very comfortable and at home. we loved feeding the animals in the farm and were amused with the other accommodations like train and pier setups within the space

Donrita and Peter are warm and engaging hosts. Their place is very comfortable, quiet and in a beautiful part of the world, surrounded by nature.

I had a great stay at this property. It was very comfortable, in a quiet street, and very close to town. The local pub and wood-fired pizza joint I had meals at in town were awesome. Much better than some other country towns I've stayed at recently. Back to the property though. Super friendly host who provided a great introduction to the room and facilities. I'll be back again when next I have competitions in the local area.

We had a great stay in Carmel and Mal’s lovely home. The AirBnB was private and peaceful, in a quiet area not far from the main shops and beaches. The host was friendly and easy to deal with, and even left us fresh milk, OJ and things for breakfast. Would happily stay here again!
