We are so grateful that Amy & Phil open their home for guests! The location is amazing, the room was soothingly comfortable after all our adventures, and the breakfast was excellent! Amy openly shared stories about the ranch & family history. She took extra steps to arrange some local experiences for another family that was staying at the same time. Stay more than one night if you can!

Great private location & the fall colors were at their peak. Thank you for having bottled waters for drinking and a few logs in the house for a crackling fire. Bed was cozy, nice mid day sun on the deck, bird seed supplied to encourage birds and chipmunk visitors...and a turkey. Hot tub was all set up and ready. Soft water pressure in the shower not my favorite. Understand it's 'cabin well thing'.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while we explored Badlands National Park. I wish we had gotten to stay more! The property was just gorgeous with the river overlook, and our hosts were great. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Our room was comfy and we enjoyed using the kitchen to cook ourselves dinner. Seeing the chickens and burros on the property was also fun. Would definitely stay here versus the other options in the area, no contest.

Carrie was an awesome host… She is the most chillest person I’ve ever met… Extremely open to conversation, answering any questions, very quick responses, house and space were immaculate… I would highly recommend

Tom and Mary were incredible hosts! I feel like we hit the jackpot with this booking. The views were breathtaking, the hot tub was relaxing, and Tom's breakfast was incredible! We never had a want or need that wasn't already anticipated by our hosts, and they were so easy to talk to and get along with. I will definitely book here again.

We loved our stay at the Ranch house and it was so close to the entrance of the Badlands! Loved the extremely friendly hosts and the delicious and big breakfast! Great place to stay! Would highly recommend!

Me and some friends were coming in from a 20 hour road trip and we were running late and missed the check in time (2hours late (midnight)). The host was very accommodating. Although we had a little trouble getting a response back to make sure it was okay to show up late, when we got there she helped us immediately and we got checked in super fast. It's a very chill place and I didn't feel like I was being watched despite their being other cabins. The privacy was nice and the few people that I did talk to were super friendly. There are a few bugs, but honestly, this is a campground. It's a very nice cabin with surprisingly a lot of room. We had 6 people move around very comfortably and we could have had one more. The front porch was also extremely comfortable. I don't know what kind of chairs those are but I could have lounged all day. I wish we could have stayed a little longer. The AC was nice after our long camping trip and there were literally no other problems that we experienced. Overall, I would say if you need a place to stop on your road trip or somewhere to shower and stay the night, I would highly recommend this Airbnb.

Good deal for the money. The cabin was clean and comfortable but showers, bathhouse, and pool needed some maintenance and cleaning.

Amy and Phil have certainly created a gem of an oasis in this beautiful area of South Dakota. They are wonderful hosts and made me feel right at home. I hope I get the opportunity to return in the future!

This was a beautiful place to stay! Breakfast was amazing every day and the house itself is spectacular.

Stairs to get up to all but 1 room. Was a challenge for my arthritic knees. Bathrooms in every room are very nice. They supply pool towels for the jacuzzi. Its super quiet . Her cat lucky is super cute and friendly.

The 1899 in takes you back in time while still having modern amenities. Nyla and her husband are gracious hosts and it's clear they take pride in their B&B. We'd definitely stay here again!

Marilyn’s lodge is a great find and the hosts are super friendly. The rooms are spacious and the lodge itself fits the wilderness aesthetic with authenticity. For example, the fireplace is all local stone and semiprecious gems, hand picked and collected to display the character of the region. Ask Marilyn and she will tell you about them! Deer wander past the driveway and I saw two buffalo just a few minutes down the road in Custer State Park. Got young people with you? Marilyn’s grandkids are often about and happy make new friends. Wondering what to visit and in what order? Marilyn will have her maps and highlighters ready to help set a route that suits your interests. I only hesitated to give top marks across the board because I think some people interpret “cleanliness” to mean sterile shiny surfaces. This is a wooden lodge cut from local resources and it is a family home. It is clean and tidy, but not a varnished or glossy tile. Relax and enjoy!

1899 inn Deadwood SD is a gem within walking distance to Main Street. The accommodations were pleasant providing comforts of home and more. Nyla is a wonderful chef making a variety of satisfying tasteful foods guaranteed to please a foodie’s palate. Tom provided firsthand information of surrounding attractions. We had the opportunity to purchase a few of his published books that he graciously signed for us. We are hopeful o stay at 1899 inn once again in the near future.

The room had awesome decor and comfy robes to wear. The bed and pillows was like sleeping on a cloud! Rhonda and Bill made us feel right at home! Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommend! Friendly and informative! Don’t hesitate to reach out to them for anything, great communication!

Séjour parfait. Je cherchais un lieu avec un peu d’histoire et d’âme et c’était exactement ça! Le jardin , la cuisine et le salon sont très agréables! Je suis restée un jour supplémentaire.

Such a cute and cozy home. We were looking for more of an “experience” stay vs a typical hotel. The atmosphere and the extra little touches like robes, games, chocolates and teas were a nice touch. We even braved the winter cold and went star gazing in the outdoor hot tub which was wonderful!

This place was perfect for our two night stay in the Black Hills area. We are already looking forward to a longer return stay. Location was outside of town and a short drive to Custer State Park, Mt Rushmore, and other area attractions. The B & B was charming, comfortable, and full of history of the area. We had a view of Mt Rushmore from the deck ! The real treasure here is the owner, Marilyn, who is a wealth of information regarding the history of the area. She helped us fine tune our itinerary, made excellent restaurant recommendations, and sat down to discuss driving directions. She even sent us off with homemade scones when we had an early morning departure. Highly recommend !
