The Acadia NP Visitor Center, the start of the Park Loop Rd & our downtown village are within 2 to 5 miles. Drive into Acadia or to the village for more dining, shopping, and excursions. From late June to mid Oct, the free Island Explorer shuttle is an easy option.

You’ll love our home because it is very comfortable with beautiful gardens and many quiet sitting areas for early morning coffee or your late afternoon wine. Our place is very accommodating for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers and for bird watchers.

We are the Black Friar Inn and Pub, the Skylight room has a big skylight which overlooks our sunny yellow room with a queen bed. Enjoy those Bar Harbor starlit nights from this rooftop room. Red Oak is nestled at the top of our Bar Harbor bed and breakfast, and features its own private “tree house” deck. From here, you can sit among the maple treetops and enjoy your coffee or a cold drink, reflect upon your day, and gaze across the neighborhood to the bell tower of St. Saviour on Mount Desert Street. At night, sleep soundly in your antique queen size bed. Red Oak Room is located on the third floor and has a private, en suite bathroom and shower.

This 3 bedroom apartment occupies the second floor of the Freedom House Bed & Breakfast main house. Two of the bedrooms have a queen size bed, and one has a king size bed. The apartment has a comfortable living room with cable tv, and a fully equipped eat in kitchen. The bathroom has a claw foot tub/shower combination (and obviously a sink and toilet, lol!) *PLEASE BE AWARE THE STAIR CASE IS STEEP BY TODAYS STANDARDS AS THE HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1888.
