Big spacious house for a very good price! We asked to drop off our luggage earlier, because we didn't have a car, and Tami let us check in earlier, that was very nice, thank you! We stayed here a week. Away from the city noise, but still not far from Otavalo. The Poncho plaza was 5-10 min by taxi. It was never a problem to catch taxi near the house. And there are two little shops just a minute away from the house where you can get everything you need for cooking and snacks. There are two sweet lovely dogs on the property that made us smile, and the view from the balcony on the Imambura volcano was just amazing. Thank you!

El lugar es bonito, cómodo, está ubicado en una zona muy tranquila para desconectarse de todo, con unas vistas lindas pero al mismo tiempo estás cerca de todos los lugares turísticos. La casa es tal cual se describe en la publicación muy acogedora, familiar cómoda para pasarla bien. Gracias por todo!!

The dome was a clean, quiet, peaceful retreat near Otavalo. Stunning views, beautiful grounds and a spotless room led to an Excellent stay. Each morning was a different stunning view of the mountains and countryside, thanks to the fascinating weather. Our host was very kind and helpful. Road to the domes is cobblestone.

Electrical power outages in Ecuador not a large factor here. Fast Wi-Fi always available with backup system. Stove and water heater were gas powered. It was the start of rainy season with rain recently, so hydropower shortage may be short lived. We wanted a feel for the Kichwa culture. Gloria gave us clippings for teas and had us out several days with alpacas, cows, and family. Cotacachi and Quito had a large police presence. Saw none in La Calera with children out playing into the evening. We were told the indigenous community deals with problems swiftly. Edison immediately responded to any need. Comfortable beds, plenty of covers, and wood for the fireplace were close at hand. Beautiful lodge and décor show a whimsical, spiritual, and colorful culture. Cabs were easy to wave down at $2.50 a ride from Cotacachi when we were loaded with groceries. A small store a half block away had essentials: water, produce, eggs, bread. Yes it fit our needs and we’d do it again.

Todo estuvo bien. Un aspecto a mejorar es el ruido por las noches de una tipo máquina que suena, por lo demás perfecto.

El departamento super limpio amplio y acorde a las fotos, Maria Belén es una excelente anfitriona preocupada todo el tiempo por nuestro bienestar. Fue una estadía muy cómoda y recomendable. No está tan cerca del centro pero se llega sin problema en 5 minutos en auto o taxi.

We had a pleasant stay for a night at Jose and Sulma's place. They were responsive and helpful with the check-in and check-out. The house was clean, in a peaceful area. We wanted to be outside town and close to Cuicocha so the location was perfect for us. The garden is very beautiful and we got to enjoy the sun outside.
