Interaktion mit Gästen
We (Michael and Tamara) live in the house upstairs with our two friendly dogs, tortoise and herd of cats, who you may see or hear from time to time, though we do not allow our pets into the guest areas. Unless you'd like to join us for a glass of wine on our back patio, we will fully respect your privacy and quiet hours.
Weitere wichtige Infos
Besides our off-kilter townscape and eccentric townsfolk, we also have unique weather and wildlife to take note of. In winter, we do get snow, and temperatures regularly fall below freezing at night, but can be comfortable light-jacket temps during the day. Summers vary from mild 80s to rarely the low-100s, but because we are a mile high, we are on average about 20 degrees cooler than Phoenix or Tucson. Because The Laundry Room is tucked under the main house, and against a solid rock hillside, it stays cool in Summer, with no need for air conditioning, as long as you keep the doors and windows closed during the warmer parts of the day, but we do provide fans for your comfort. A small radiator heater is provided in Winter that is more than adequate to keep both rooms cozy. Our Monsoon season starts around the first week of July and continues through September with afternoon downpours and spectacular thunderstorms. The showers are often heavy, but brief, giving way to cool Summer evenings and glorious sunsets. This time of year also brings mosquitos and other flying/biting critters, so we recommend you come prepared. Though the outer door and windows are well-sealed, and screens are mosquito-proof, we recommend guests keep lights off in the evenings if you go out. If you are hiking on our nearby trails you may spot javelina, deer, coatimundi, ring-tailed cats, a variety of migratory birds, or rarely even a rattlesnake or mountain lion, so enjoy the gorgeous surroundings, but be careful and be aware.
