I am very hesitant to rent my house again after this experience. I have installed security cameras on the outside of my home and will now only accept guests that have previous (positive) reviews and agree to follow the rules in writing -no parties (or anything that might resemble one), no smoking, no pets. I love my home and take great pride in providing a nice space for my guests. I would be happy to host anyone that is willing to treat my home as they would their own and I will do everything I can to help make it a good experience for my guests. I have also learned from this experience that photo documentation on both sides is useful, so I agree with Raja about that.
I have hosted 18 people in my home and every one of them had a positive experience, so much so that I had Superhost status. Raja and guests totally disrespected my home and it has been utterly heartbreaking to me. I have no desire or need to tell lies. My space was perfect when I left for that weekend (I have video proof of this) and now I am left with a damaged home and a battle with Airbnb. I contacted Airbnb immediately upon returning and began documenting the problems with photos. When I returned my home had the appearance of a leftover party. There was widespread damage to my laminate floors due to a leak in the sink. I had my maintenance man come immediately and found the cause of the leak to be chicken bones that had blocked the disposal. There were also burn holes in my windowsill/blind/placemats, blood dripping inside of the fridge, missing towels, etc. I have already remodeled my entire house and had zero desire to do any more work/upgrades to it and no reason at all to request money of a guest to do so as implied here. I simply want to return to enjoying my home, but instead I am left with a huge, expensive mess on my hands. Feel free to contact me if you have any concerns regarding this review.
