•100m to famous Mouraria open air bars/restaurants at back of the army barracks, a great, relatively cheap but good quality option for local food and to experience the quintessential Brazilian barzinho with a friendly, noisy atmosphere. The bar Koisa Nossa on the corner is famed as having Salvador’s best “empada” (pastry with savory filling), the bar Arena da Lambretta has wifi and a great moqueca, and the bar Amigo Espetinho painted in yellow has excellent caipirinhas and finger food. These bars are famous for being the post-football match bars so worth trying to see a match during your stay and enjoy the bars afterwards (see below about the football matches)
