Sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced. Firstly, the houses both have brand new central AC units. Unfortunately, during your stay there was a heat wave reaching in the mid 90's which can have an impact on the effectiveness of the AC units especially in these old houses (originally built in 1890). Additionally, opening and closing the doors to the properties to access the deck during such high temp sucks all the cold air out and hot air in and does not allow house to stay cool. We do apologize if you were not comfortable with the climate control but we do our best to accommodate. Each room has ceiling fans and we have provided two portable AC units to help cool things down on those hot Kentucky days. As for check-in, our rules clearly state check-in after 3pm which simply means not before 3pm. Many times we can accommodate early arrivals but when we have a same day turnaround as we did with your group we could not. We did allow you to drop off your luggage so hopefully that was helpful. As we mentioned to you upon arrival our cleaning crew was there working on the property as fast as possible to get it ready for your stay. As for deck lights, we have them set automatically to be courteous to our neighbors with an earlier shut off time during weekdays. I believe this is all spelled out in our rules but we did make an exception for your group and changed the settings to 10P all days which is where it is set now. There is a city noise ordinance, so we are trying to be in compliance with city regulations and keep our neighbors happy. Sorry if the lights went off too early for you but as you saw, we did change that for the next nights. Unfortunately, we have had a few bad groups that partied all night on the deck and drew several noise complaints. Just trying to avoid that.
