Homar had his worker Antonio pick us up at the bus station at midnight in Trujillo, and both Antonio and Homar were extremely nice and welcome.
Homar had us upgraded to an apartment with a balcony on the second floor, and the apartment is just like in pictures. Spacious, modern, light, great view to the beach. The building is only some 4 years old, so everything is in quite good condition.
There are bikes to use for free in the building, it is only 50m to the beach, and a couple of hundred meters to the part of the beach where you have really good surf.
The apartment is located in the far end of the beach, so the area is very peaceful but Huanchaco is safe, so you don't need to be scared of walking around even at night.
There are restaurants near by, and one kiosk to get some basic stuff. Its maybe a 10-15 minutes walk to the central market where you can buy groceries and so. There are no supermarkets in Huanchaco.
The only not-so-good working part was the internet - it worked well usually in the mornings, but you could never count on it. Sometimes it also worked at nights, but you could only have 2 devices logged on at the same time if you wanted it to work. But anyway, when it worked it worked pretty well so we didn't even complain about it.
We cooked a lot, since we were on budget. The kitchen has all the devices, but could have some more "little things", like a cutting board and more than one cutting knife etc. Small things, but helpful.
Beds were good, towels were provided and there was hot water in the shower.
Homer let us have a late check-out too, which was perfect since we took a bus late at night back to Lima.
All in all a very nice place to stay, would definitely come back. And there is a superb sunset from the balcony every night to enjoy!
