Take a walk by the wild side. In winter the south coast seas are wonderful and you can walk to the seals at Red Rocks. In summer we have gorgeous sunsets. We have a picture theater and a pub close by. And it's only 20 minutes to Wellington city.
Our house is right along the sea shore and there are lovely coastal walks along the beach and the rocky shore.
The bedroom looks out onto our cliff face garden. It has double doors that open up to a deck, a real sunny spot for many months of the year.
The room has a double bed and cupboard space, a mirror and cabinet. We have natural wooden floors made of Matai, a native NZ Timber which gives a warm and friendly feel to our house.
I have a spare room upstairs and can accommodate two extra people.
On the sea front there is a living and dining area with fantastic unrestricted views of the bay. Breakfast is served here or on the patio at the back.
A secluded deck at the top of the garden with amazing views has a barbecue that you are welcome to use. It is a perfect spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine.

This shore is part of a marine reserve. There are several diving companies in the area who can take you diving to see the marine life and the shipwreck close by.
Jonathan from Cook Strait Fishing Charters lives two houses down and can take you out on a fun-filled fishing trip. You are welcome to cook your catch in our light and airy kitchen or have a barbecue up in our garden.
A bike trip around the Wellington coast line is also an option. Bring your own bike or organise hiring. Biking into Wellington city along the coastline is also enjoyable.
There is ample opportunity to go for walks along the shore and over the hill tops with views across the coast line. You can also visit some galleries of local artists. A walk to Bluebell Café at Island Bay village is well worth it to try the best pies in Wellington. After an activity filled day, you may also opt for fish and chips on the rocky shore across the road. There is even a wooden table you can sit at while you enjoy your meal.
You can also enjoy a meal cooked a la Francesca in our lovely dining space with fantastic views; the sunsets at night are especially glorious.

I am passionate about Wellington and its beautiful coastline. I love cooking, walking, gardening, and living by the sea.
My husband, Dolf, and I enjoy hosting people and lively conversation. We are both keen trampers who have traveled far and wide.
