100 year old cozy guest house most recently used as a tole painting studio with three rooms for overnight guests. Ambience is a mix of rustic, artsy, and 1980s country. Conveniently located within walking distance of ferry and downtown Friday Harbor.
This 900 sq ft guest house is great for families and small groups who want to hang out in their own space. It is quirky and cozy; definitely a reflection of the eclectic history of the house. It easily fits two couples and two singles, but has only 1 bathroom.
Hot breakfast is served to you in the guest house at prearranged time between 7:30 and 8:30 AM. The guest house is stocked with games, puzzles, reading books, guide books and some family friendly movies. There is a kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, large toaster oven, dishes and cooking utensils. Kitchenette is best used for reheating or serving takeout food. The TV is hooked up to cable, with limited channels and there is a DVD player.

While Friday Harbor is a pretty quiet town, this house is situated on one of the busier streets that connects with some of the major roads dispersing travelers throughout the island. There is some background traffic noise, but most people have said it isn't a bother.
Because I need to get up early to make breakfast, I ask that you reserve a spot on a ferry that arrives between 3pm and 9:30pm. Please plan to arrive 45 minutes ahead of time to the docks in Anacortes, as if you arrive later than 30 minutes before the boat leaves you may lose your reservation and will be put in stand-by.
Basically, the motto is be respectful of others and the house. Since many wouldn't want to be awoken in the middle of the night by noise or drama, then do the same for others. Spills and accidents happen, just make the host aware of what happened.
There is absolutely no smoking or vaping on the property. Guests are expected to honor this so that the property can be smoke free for all guests.
Due to the number of people who are allergic to animals, pets are not allowed in the guest house. However, the owner does have two cats who occupy the main house. So, if guests are allergic to cats then they should definitely make the host aware.
Parking is available for up to two guest cars.
I'm a down-to-earth kind of person, no lofty dreams except to be content and learn to live each day as it comes. Love God, family, friends, cheese and tea (5 things I can't live without)! I'm an even split between introversion and extroversion, which means that I can be talkative when need be and also need down-time to recoup. I loved travelling to Europe (England, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Czech Republic, Luxemburg, etc.), especially the time I was able to stay with friends and enjoy their hospitality.
As B&B host, I will be welcoming and engaging, but respectful of each person's needs. I'm into spaces that are simple and functional, but cozy and inviting, too. My breakfasts will be simple but satisfying, as that is my favorite meal of the day!
As a guest in someone else's home, my motto is to leave the place better than when you found it (and eat whatever is put before you without grumbling). I just need a quiet place to sleep, shower, and read a good book before bed.
