I have nice small double room with high ceiling available at the front of the Castle for your short or long holiday.
I also have a five bedroom listed, so other guests maybe staying aswell.
The toilet and wash basin are en-suite however with no hot water.
The shared guest bathroom where you can enjoy a nice hot shower is on the ground level below. The large main rooms are used as an art gallery space, but also can be used by you for entertainment, reading or just for chilling out away from your room. Blake a Dutch artist who paints with different types of sand and Steven who runs Bush craft camps in the woods also lives here, so it’s got an interesting atmosphere. I do facilitate film and photo shoots occasionally so please come to stay, with a flexible attitude to how quite or busy it may be, from day to day. For me that’s the great and exciting thing about Cregg.

The Castle is mostly available to explore and enjoy. (With the exception of our private bedrooms off course.) The kitchen is also available if you want to make breakfast, lunch or to cook a meal. The guests have their own little fridge and your own press with table ware etc.
Heads up!
This is a work in progress, My aim is to restore the Castle, it was locked up, for 4 yrs only 4 years ago. It’s a big place so please do expect to see some areas which are unused, unfinished and things like - fly’s in cobwebs and lots of weeds. Sorry but I don’t have any staff here, and there just isn’t time in my life for that stuff. It's kind of impossible to keep them away from here, nature just keeps creeping inside.
I tell myself it all adds character anyways.
The winter months it’s pretty cold here so bring warm clothes. The castle has huge rooms and costs too much to heat the whole building, so we tend to just heat the rooms as and when we need them. Your room has a heater which will keep you warm. Kitchen has a mobile gas heater.

If you request, - I can light the open fire in the front room.
Why not, enjoy sitting in for a few drinks and a game of snooker or cards for the evening, (please offer an extra 10 + euro for payment for fuel.)

Yes, I will be available most of the time. If something is requested I'm happy to help and aim to make your stay more relaxed and enjoyable. Off course I have lots of other things going on in my life too, so please do not expect my full attention and presents at all times. When I'm not here, Blake or Steven will be your hosts.

Corrandulla, Co. Galway is a quite countryside area north of Galway City. Only 10-15 mins (off peak) to the city.
Claddagh cabs can do a rate of 25 -30 per journey. We have local country shops and bars fast food etc. only minutes’ drive from the Castle.

There is one bus to the city daily and 1 bus returning in the evening however best to have a car available.
I have a fixed rate with Claddagh Cabs in Galway - to or from the City. 20 euro for a 4 seater cab or 6 seater 30 eur(phone number hidden)

The woodlands are beautiful for natural walks, visit our timeless natural spring well, which is where we get our water. The old walled graveyard which has an old ruin of church which is strangely placed right in the middle of the huge field. Take another walk on the grounds along the river which used to power the old mill house. The have my beautiful 2 year old pony " Arrow" she is such a sweetheart and a real cool 4 year old donkey "Houdini" who both like to hang out in the back yard and the walled garden - apple orchard. They like to go for walks with me and love meeting the guests too.

I am an Artist , a painter and have been living here at Cregg Castle for the past three years. I have two amazing sons, Jaeden is 18 now going to college learning more about cars and Zach is soon 11, with lots of creative talents.
I have done many things in life but art is my true passion. After art college I spent a few years creating art and doing exhibitions. I turned my hands to creating custom made furniture, also building a few houses , studied and practiced as a therapist, opened and co-managed a pre-school and then co- managed a small local casino.
But its in the last 3 years I have had the best time, I love it here at Cregg Castle, getting time to find myself again while painting, renovating the castle and also hosting quite a few events. I have had several artist living and working here over the few years. Blake a dutch artist lives here also, its all go, sometimes with many people enjoying the space and thankfully most of the time, its so quite and magical, feels like a time warp here, where time gets lost.
My Grandfather bought the Castle when I was just 2 years old. He worked it as a farm to supply food to his Hotel in Salthill, Galway. He passed it to my Aunt and Uncle who opened a B&B with a traditional music theme. They sold the Castle in 2006 and unfortunaly the new owners were hit with the ressession and ended up locking the Castle up, It was 4 years locked up when I approched them with my proposal. Thankfully they accepted and since then, I have been trying to get it back on track. Still lots to do here as you will see, but you guys coming to stay is so great for the Castle and I would like you to know that by staying here you are doing your little bit to help the upkeep and the renovations going. I really appreicate it.
I am delighted to have my artwork on exhibition at the castle and I feel its the perfect place to host my therapeutic Painting Workshop.
"Butterfly Wings"
My workshop provides an enjoyable opportunity for the participants to get in touch with their inner self, while exploring the medium and process of oil painting. Discovering many new and exciting things about themselves, they will have the freedom to create a real positive change in their lives.
The workshop uses NLP techniques and adapts the process of Time Line Therapy so you can express yourself through your Art.

I have just created a mobile art instalation which I also call Butterfly Wings. Its my 1967 Airstream trailer, which I have built huge wings to create a kinda steam punk butterfly to go to festivals and events. I do a face painting service with a butterfly theme only. An intro to my workshop is the idea.

I feel very blessed in life and I plan to enjoy and appreciate all of it.
