  • Tolle und außergewöhnliche Unterkunft nicht weit vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Cottage ist recht gut ausgestattet, man vermisst nichts. Besonders ist die Ruhe in den Nachtstunden erwähnenswert.

  • We spent a week on vacation in the Camden area and the cottage was absolutely lovely and everything we expected! Margaret is a gracious and responsive host. We will certainly be recommending the cottage to friends and family and hope to return soon!

  • The cozy cottage was exactly as described - a perfect, small apartment in a great location for visiting Camden. Margaret was very hospitable and helpful.

Pet security deposit required.
You will have complete privacy on the second floor. The accommodations include a good-sized bedroom (double bed with good mattress), and den and a large private bathroom with tub and shower. There is a day bed in the den that can accommodate another guest and ample closet and bureau space if you like to unpack during your stay. My house is on a quiet, wooded street with a farm down the road and is a great place for walking/running. I am only a minute from a main road (Rt. 1) which provides easy access north, south and west and is short drive to Penobscot Bay.
  • Stacey is a rock star host! She is communicative and kind, and checks in the perfect amount to see how your stay is going. It is a wonderful thing to feel so warmly and authentically welcomed when you arrive! I was in Maine for a yoga training, and the space was perfect for coming back to in the evening. It is spacious, well lit, and very clean. Her dear kitties were also a treat being away from my own.

    Melissa2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Stacey couldn't have been more hospitable, she was the most gracious hostess. Our accommodations were generous, comfortable, quiet and clean. Breakfast included coffee, homemade blueberry jam, apple-butter and the best almond nut butter I've ever had. We had delightful conversations with Stacey; she was available but not intrusive and respectful of our personal travel needs. We highly recommend Stacey's Airbnb, hands down.

    Elisabeth2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed with Stacey for two nights when visiting Rockland. I don't think our experience could have been any better, and staying here was one of the highlights of our stay! Stacey is very welcoming and friendly. She offered us breakfast each morning before we left the house - her homemade almond butter and strawberry rhubarb jam are delicious. She provided recommendations for things to do in town and good general background on the area. We felt very comfortable in our stay not just because of the physical accommodations but because of Stacey herself! The house was very nice and you'll get plenty of space. The entire upstairs is yours, including a bedroom, den space, and bathroom with lots of Windows for plenty of fresh air (very refreshing in the summer, especially if you're traveling from somewhere hot like we were). The front yard is gorgeous and full of flowers and plants. Have breakfast on the back porch under the trees if you can, and see what birds come by! She also has two nice cats we made friends with that are happy to be pet but won't invade your space if you're not a cat person. Overall I can't say enough good things about our visit. I hope we can get back to Maine soon, and when we do, we will definitely stay at Stacey's!

  • Stacey is a very gracious and accommodating host. We had a wonderful time staying at her place over Labor Day weekend. Her homemade jams and almond butter were superb, and we had great conversations over breakfast. The quarters were comfortable and spacious with a huge private bathroom. The location was very convenient to access Camden, Rock Port and Rockland. We look forward to staying with her when in the area again.

  • Great stay at Stacey's place! Cats were adorable. Enjoy!

    Benjamin2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stacey's place was amazing. It is in a gorgeous part of Maine should you be looking at the sites this part of the world boasts, but it is also within communiting distance from several hospitals should medical work bring you here, as it did me. Easy to find, lovely layout with an entire upper floor all your own, complete with a sitting room and enormous bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and the entire atmosphere was clean, bright, welcoming, and laid back. Stacey as well as 2 friendly kitties welcomed me, and she even packed me a breakfast (including homemade muffins!) to take as I left so early in the mornings for work. Ideal for traveling nurses, or tourists, or anyone needing a lovely uplifting place to call home for a spell. Highly recommended.

  • Stacey is a wonderful host! We had a great stay with her and her two sweet cats. Our space was very comfortable. We loved having a den to relax in and a private bathroom to ourselves. She provided us with delicious homemade almond butter and jams. Her home is conveniently located near Camden and Rockland, two towns we loved exploring. Highly recommended.

  • I stayed with Stacey for four nights at her lovely AirBnb. I've been a host in NYC for a few years, and I've stayed at many AirBnbs over the years while traveling - Stacey's AirBnb is the best I've ever stayed at, by far. Not only is she an amazing host and a really nice person, the room upstairs was clean, cozy and separate from the rest of the house with it's own living room area and bathroom. I felt totally at home for the 4 nights I was there. I'm a photographer and was working all day in the area, and had to leave everyday at 5:45am - Stacey had a breakfast packed for me every morning (homemade muffins, applesauce and yogurt). I'd definitely stay at Stacey's again! I don't have enough good things to say - oh, cats were adorable!

  • Kim's place was better than we could have imagined. This was our first time using Airbnb and we were a little nervous. Check in and checkout were so easy! Kim was a wonderful host and had left us goodies for our first breakfast! We had use of an outside grill which was wonderful. Her home is on a lake with lots of paths which we enjoyed each day. We also were able to use her kayaks on the water! Her home was convenient to many towns and attractions close by. It was very quiet and peaceful which is what we were looking for. We can't wait to stay in this same apartment on our next visit to Maine!! Thanks, Kim!!

    Chris2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent. Better than we could have expected! Wildflowers right outside our patio, beautiful birds signing away, and fireflies all night long. Peace & privacy, with a gorgeous, roomy apartment! We could here the river from our apartment. We couldn't have been happier or more comfortable. Kimberly was a perfect host, answering all of our questions and steering us as needed in the right direction! We loved staying at Kim's place, and if we get back that way would certainly do so again.

    Robert2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberley (with her friendly but unobtrusive chocolate Labs) was a warm and generous host. Our space included a fully stocked kitchen with adjacent dining table, a sitting room with plenty of information and maps for the local area, a pleasantly decorated bathroom, and an airy bedroom with plenty of storage space. We made good use of the organic coffee, eggs, milk, and local cheese she had put in the kitchen for us. Outside the dining area is a patio with picnic table, chairs, and a grill surrounded by flowers and with a view of the St. George river through the woods. We enjoyed having cocktail hour there! Though secluded, this spot is a good stepping off place for the attractions of mid-coast Maine.

    Dina2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberley's place was better than expected! Very clean, up to date appliances, beautiful view and had everything I needed for my stay. Kimberley was a wonderful host who made sure I knew she was only a phone call away if I needed anything at all. She was very helpful if I had questions about events in town, surrounding towns, or was just looking for a gas station! Highly recommended!!!

    Katlyn2017-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's apartment was much better than I imagined. It's designed for travelers and all the fixtures are brand new and thought out so that when you stay there, you feel at home. only better, bc it's in the middle of the woods in the most beautiful surroundings.

A bright, cozy home with a welcoming ambiance on a quiet side street near Thomaston center. The house is surrounded by 5 acres of unspoiled rolling fields giving an incredible sense of privacy, all while still in town. Easy walking distance to all the attractions of historic Thomaston, and a central location from which to explore Mid-Coast Maine.
The Morse house has an open floor plan with an airy, sunny living room and a welcoming dining area with a country kitchen behind it. The decor is cheerful and bright--wood, white, a few strong accents of color--and gives the feel of a well cared-for house, sparkling clean and inviting. The bedrooms each have queen sized beds, and there is an additional wood-paneled library/den with easy access to the spacious yard with its large trees, flowers, and fields. -Kitchen: Well equipped full kitchen with new electric stove and refrigerator. Microwave, coffeemaker, hot water pot, toaster, blender, and plenty of cooking utensils. Basic condiments and spices are provided. -Snacks: We supply coffee, tea and sugar. You'll find a variety of light snacks (may include yogurt, fruit, crackers, cookies), and bottled water. -Bedrooms: Brand new queen size pillow top mattresses in both bedrooms. -Library/Den: Drop leaf table opens out to a convenient desk surface or games table. -Books & Games: There is wide selection of books and assortment of games for your amusement. Also a croquet set for use on the big lawn. -Washer and dryer: Laundry detergent included. -Outdoors: Patio table and chairs overlooking the field; private off-street parking.
The area is very quiet while close to everything. You can walk or bike. Thomaston Cafe provides great Sunday brunch and lunch/dinner. Eat on the dock at the Slip Way for lunch or dinner and have fresh fish while enjoying the water. The friendliness of this town is reflected in the Free Friday Night Movies at the town library at 7pm. There is salt water fishing from the town landing. Enjoy the beautiful architecture and the Museum in the Street placards that provide information on the many historic sea captains houses. Thomaston was known as "The Town that Went to Sea" and due to the shipping industry in 1840 two out of the seven "millionaires" in the United States lived in Thomaston. The town is rich with the echoes of that illustrious past and is filled with history! Thomaston is located at the start of two magnificent peninsulae filled with history as well, and with the stunning natural beauty of the Maine coast, all starting at your doorstep. There are in- town hiking trails, Schooner day trips, bare boat charters, sea kayaking, ferries, swimming in lakes and coves, and beach-combing the coast with its islands. Penobscot Bay is one of the world's greatest sailing areas and boating enthusiasts will find this a paradise. There's also historic Knox Mansion overlooking the town, and Port Clyde's Marshall Point Light (featured in the movie Forrest Gump). We are four miles from Rockland, 8 miles from Rockport, and ten miles from Camden. The Cushing and St. George Peninsula both start at the harbor. Marshall Point Light and the Olsen House of Wyeth fame are just two enticing destinations within an easy drive. There is great hiking in the Camden Hill's State Park and the George's River Preserve which together include most of the coastal mountains with stunning views of sea and mountains. Easy access to the Blues Festival, Wooden Boat Show, Lobster Festival, and Farnsworth Museum. Perfect for a quiet night's sleep and getting up early to catch the ferry from Port Clyde to Monhegan Island, or as a home base from which to explore the entire mid-coast region, with day trips from Pemaquid Point to Acadia National Park!
  • This house is a very pleasant place to spend time experiencing the Maine coast. It is centrally located between a host of historic and picturesque towns, offering ample daily activities. The house was well equipped and had a wonderfully quaint farm house feel too it. The beds were very comfortable and amenities were ample. Daria even provided some basic groceries which was welcomed by all. Daria is a very sweet host, we suggest asking her for a few recommendations on activities. She gave use a few suggestions which turned out to be hidden gems.

  • Daria's home was beautiful, clean and quiet. It is a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet get away. Daria is also super helpful, accommodating and hospitable - a great host to have! Overall, had an amazing weekend getaway!

  • This is a great 2-bedroom house in a convenient, quiet location. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were pristine. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom (new fixtures) had lots of towels. The hostess left delicious breakfast food and snacks. She was very welcoming and friendly and met us and explained everything. We didn't have time to explore Thomaston but it is a cute town and we would like to come back and spend more time.

    Meg2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Top 3 things i loved about Daria's home: 1) the cross-wind that invites a warm summer breeze 2) Great indoor lighting options for conversations with friends/family, or reading a book by the fireplace 3) The shower pressure that washes away stress There's more too - like the welcoming fruit basket, cookies, and milk; Daria's list favorite activies; the peaceful and quiet neighborhood. But you'll just have to head up and find out for yourself.

    Alex2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Daria was so helpful on every occasion, starting with when we needed to extend our stay a little. The house more than met our expectations. It has a wonderfully equipped kitchen, a very comfortable living room and den (which both have excellent collections of books and really comfortable furniture for reading), and well-appointed bedrooms with comfortable beds, luxurious bedding and plenty of closet space. For us it was a perfect base. We hope it's available the next time we are in the area, especially to share with other family members visiting mid-coast Maine.

    John2018-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Daria is great! Her home is beautiful and just as advertised! Great for a quiet getaway.

    Hailey2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Daria's Thomaston house was an extremely comfortable stay while visiting family nearby for Thanksgiving. Daria had many thoughtful touches that really made a difference such as supplying a few groceries and treats so we did not need to run to the store right away. And also nice gestures such as laundry detergent and shampoo. The place was very clean and easy to settle into. Also in a very pretty neighborhood that is just a short walk to the water or to town. Daria met us when we arrived and made sure we got a quick into to how everything worked. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you Daria!

    Alice2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Daria’s home was perfect for our weekend get away. The home was very clean and spacious. Easy fit our party or four. Daria was always reachable by phone and had lots of great local recommendations.

  • We loved staying at the Oyster River Farm Cottage alongside Susan and Tim. The cottage was very comfortable and we loved the extra care that the hosts put into making it feel that way. The property surrounding the cottage is beautiful and there is so much room to roam! We had our two dogs with us and they were in heaven sniffing for wildlife, swimming, and doing all of that other dog stuff. Would definitely recommend staying here!

    emilie2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in the Oyster River Farm Cottage! Booking was able within a day and everything was perfectly prepared. The house is a dream, unfortunately we stayed too short to enjoy the enormous backyard/garden. It was very clean and tidy, the beds were super comfortable and the fridge was filled with little surprises to feel very welcome. Tim showed us around and answered all the questions, Susan was around at our departure. All in all, I totally recommend Susan and Tim as hosts.

    Ulrike2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is picturesque. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway in rural Maine, this is it. The cottage was so cozy - a perfect place to spend New Years! Very much want to go back in the warmer months to explore more outside. I highly recommend booking a trip here!

    Molly2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Oyster River Farm Cottage. There were 7 of us (all in our 20s) and we had plenty of room. The house was well-stocked and had lots of games. We had a great time exploring the grounds! The area was beautiful and there are mowed paths to walk along. Susan and Tim were wonderful hosts- we loved seeing their barn and painting studio! We hope to go back next time the gang gets together!

    Melanie2014-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely love old houses with all their original features ~ Tim and Susan's house was just that! It was 'chocolate box' and they have such great interior style to boot! We only stayed a night but it will now be our 'go to' home when travelling back from down east. Tim and Susan were wonderful, seemed as if we'd known them for years! No wonder this place is booked up, we feel so lucky to have stumbled across two lovely people at their beautiful home! The place was very clean with all amenities we needed and we were travelling with our 5month old and 4 year old sons. We felt so welcome! Thank you Tim and Susan!

    Sarah2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint lodging was exactly as described. Seven of us were here for a three day roller derby tournament in Rockport. Oyster River Farm Cottage was our home away from home. Everything was provided. Beds were very comfortable. The comforters were very comforting over a few cold Maine nights in early May. My friends and I will search this place out for the 2016 tournament!

    Brian2015-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tim and Susan's home is absolutely beautiful. The house itself is very roomy. We loved the antique details throughout the house. You'll have everything you need. The property itself it was really sells this listing. 50 acres of absolutely GORGEOUS land. Before leaving, we took a long walk around the property and didn't want to leave. (be careful of mosquitos!) We were able to visit with Tim. Great guy! He was very welcoming and went out of his way to make the stay comfortable. Very dog and children friendly location.

    Michelle2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely recommend staying here! Stayed here for a week with my husband, mother in law and standard poodle and we felt so at home and so taken care of - when we arrived there was beer and an entire fridge stocked with goodies - all the essential ingredients to cook with and have breakfast with and the bathroom toiletries were a nice touch too! Lots of space inside - even had a nice prayer/yoga room upstairs to do practice in! Thank you Susan and Tim! We will be back

Welcome to Midcoast Maine! Jane, David and little beagle Milo are happy to host your visit and introduce you to the Maine lifestyle starting with cozy Villa Mojo overlooking the St. George River. It's a balance of high-end luxury and untouched nature!
Villa Mojo is set on the banks of the St. George River. Your bedroom overlooks the river, and you are invited to take your breakfasts on our screened in porch. The eclectic design ~ oriental rugs, Shabby Chic linens and party lights ~ brings a bit of whimsy to your visit. After a day of checking out Mid Coast Maine, relax in a jacuzzi tub, take a walk to the river or enjoy a quiet evening listening to music or watching a movie. Your room is furnished with an Amerisleep memory foam King-size bed and adjoining bath with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower, flat-screen high definition TVs with blueray/Netflix, a ceiling fan and luxury touches such as high-end toiletries and 1000-count or flannel linens. Should the ceiling fan not be enough on that rare hot day, we have a portable air conditioner that can cool down your room in a jiff!
We are minutes from Main Street, Rockland, but we are a world away, nestled in the woods by the St. George River. Getting to the sites and activities is easy, and unwinding when you return is instant! You will love to take walks on The Breakwater (a mile-long granite walkway to the Breakwater Lighthouse), have a picnic at the more secluded Owl's Head Lighthouse, wander through the Farnsworth Museum, take in a winetasting at Cellardoor Winery and take a trip to Reds Eats (40 minutes south). We are also local to the big festivals; North Atlantic Blues Festival, Lobster Fest and Union Fair Blueberry Festival! For parents of campers coming up for Parent's Weekend, here are our distances and drive times to a few Midcoast Camps (if yours is not included, please ask): Wavus Camp: 23 miles / 35 minutes Camp Kieve: 23 miles / 40 minutes Alford Lake Camp: 15 miles / 20 minutes Tanglewood 4-H Camp: 23 miles / 40 minutes
  • What a good surprise to visit you. You were so much attentive to us and welcoming. We would have stayed longer specially with such a good breakfast where the amount of food creates a problem to leave the table. Your guest room was five stars with all the little attention and even ...red roses, WOW! We strongly recommand your B&B and we will have to improve our own bedroom and bathroom now! Thank you for such a nice time we had and sweet conversation. It is important to get to know the people and that is what we like about B&B.

  • Jane and David were great hosts. Their place is in a lovely setting on the river. A highlight was walking down at twilight and enjoying the setting sun. The room is part of their house with adjoins bathroom, plenty of space and privacy. It is elegant yet comfy with the feel of a luxury Inn. The breakfast was exceptional and memorable. There was plenty to do in the area. All in all - great!

  • We had a wonderful stay with Jane and David. The room was spacious and spotless..who could ask for more. David made a truly memorable breakfast served on their cozy porch. We loved it all and would certainly stay again.

  • This was our first experience at a BNB and my husband Tony and I (Sheila) don't think we could have had a better one anywhere else! Our room was really nice. The bathroom was large and everything was very clean with very nice linens. I can't even begin to describe the breakfast! OMG wonderful crab omelets, blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, homemade bread , lobster omelets and not to mention all the extras. Then there was our host, Jane, David and of course Anna their dog and baby! As far as we are concerned they can't be beat. If we ever make it back to Maine from Texas this will be our destination. Wonderful, wonderful wonderful!!! Can't say enough but I recommend VILLA MOJO!!!!!!! Oh yes the bed was very comfortable! Slept like a log.

    SHEILA2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jane and David were spectacular hosts. They made our time in Maine a priceless and cherished one purely by providing great food, fun outing ideas, and great company all on demand. Their breakfasts were spectacular! My favorite was a crab omelette but also the Maine maple syrup and blueberry pancakes are great too! They truly treat you like family and the home and amenities are exemplary. The little hill trail to waterside seating on the St George river was a appreciated bonus too. Best airbnb stay experience yet. Will come back again soon and will definitely stay in touch with our two new dear friends in Maine.

  • This was my first airbnb experience and I was unsure of what to expect. Jane and David were very warm and welcoming. They shared their experiences of using airbnb as both a host and a guest and this helped me to feel comfortable and embrace the experience. Their home was lovely - very clean and comfortable - and the breakfast was abundant and delicious. Jane and David made sure that all my needs were met - I hope to return one day.

    Anne2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We heartily recommend this lovely B&B to anyone traveling to the area. Jane and Dave are amazing hosts and have gone out of their way to make their guests feel at home and have a comfortable and relaxing stay. The bedroom and bath are scrupulously clean, spacious, and well-equipped. There is plenty of closet space, drawer space, luxury toiletries, cozy robes, and an extensive Video library. I can't say enough about the fantastic breakfasts that Dave makes- who knew we would be eating lobster! But the biggest plus is Jane and Dave's warmth and generosity. It's one of the best places we have ever stayed!

  • I have traveled using airbnb for years and never have I felt more welcome. Jane and David are not only the best hosts we have ever stayed with they are also now our dear friends. Their home is lovely, the breakfast they made was better then any restaurant could provide and the personal attention they provided was priceless. The house is not in the center of town but was easy to find and set in beautiful surrounding. The photos were not as beautiful as the total experience. We cannot wait to return to Villa Mojo.

Maine the way life is supposed to be, it's not just a slogan at River Chase. Enjoy the ever changing tides of the salt water w/ 260 ft of private river frontage. Watch as a Bald Eagle perches in a nearby tree or as boaters navigate to the Atlantic Ocean. We are minutes away from the Rockland Harbor which hosts the Blues Festival & Lobster Festival, great shopping, museums and many restaurants. River Chase has 1600 sq ft of completely renovated house to give you a clean and modern yet comfy feel.
River Chase Cottage is a quiet relaxing environment completely surrounded by nature. If you lucky in the morning you can see the neighborhood Bald Eagle perched on the tree limb by the shore or watch as the wild turkeys make their way for breakfast. See the boats as they head up and down river to start the day as the sun rises over the waterfront. Grab your coffee and sit down on the granite bench by the water or walk to the shoreline and sit on the ledge hidden away from life's worries and noise. River Chase has a completely renovated interior with all modern conveniences and yet still has the old cottage feel. You will simply enjoy every minute of peace at River Chase. However when your mind and body wants to get moving you are just minutes away from shops, museums, sail boat rides and restaurants,. Oh did we mention Maine Lobster? Rockland is the Lobster Capital of the World. We hope to see you and your guest at our little get away.
Our neighborhood is a waterfront road with single homes. A very quiet area although you may hear the horses every once in a while that live next door at our neighbors. The road is a dead end so traffic in minimal. A great place to get away from the stresses of every day life.
  • What a great experience - the house exceeded our expectations. Nicely refurbished with quality materials by the owner, and very complete. it is a quiet spot with a nice view over the river. We really enjoyed our stay here!

  • This is a beautiful spot, right on the river with a great view and with gorgeous beautiful trees too. We loved eating outside on the deck! Highly recommended.

  • John and Patrice were waiting to meet us when we arrived. The cottage exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed our stay there. Everything was new and the house provided a great base for exploring the coast. Beds were comfortable and the four of us had plenty of room to relax. Due to rainy and foggy weather we didn't get to spend much time outside, but the waterfront provided great views of boats coming and going.

  • River Chase is a newly renovated cottage, clean and modern with a nod to classic cottage charm. It’s location was perfect for our visit to Rockland and surrounding areas…a quick drive each day but a quiet and private retreat each evening. Lovely view of the tidal river from the deck each morning. Host was very friendly and accomodating. Would highly recommend!

    Melissa2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • As an Airbnb superhost, I would highly recommend this cottage for people who like a clean, spacious, comfortable place in a beautiful natural Maine setting. It represents a great base from which one can explore multiple sights in nearby towns and offers a wonderful retreat at the end of the day. Our family of 4 (parents and 2 young adults stayed 4 nights) and loved every moment.

  • John and Patrice had thought of everything we could need for making meals and locating nearby places of interest. It was central to the activities of interest, clearly well cared for, and private. The perfect place for our ladies travel reunion.

    Amanda2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The River Chase Cottage was definitely better than what we expected. The Cottage and its interior is beautiful and very comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy the bonfire anymore, however, we enjoyed dipping into the water, reading a book in the sun and eating delicious lobsters in Tenants Harbor. Moreover, John and Patrice are utterly friendly, helpful and they were able to give good advice on what to do in the neighbourhood. Once again, thank you!

    Anna2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • This home is lovely and the view is amazing. This was our first visit to Maine and we couldn't have picked a better house to rent. It was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed our coffee on the deck in the morning and our wine down by the water in the evening. We really enjoyed ourselves.

  • My wife and I stayed with Genevieve for 6 nights the first week in August. G is an outgoing, gracious host and Woody, her 2-year-old “puppy”, is the friendliest of Shepherds. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. G’s is grand home built in 1897, a convenient 1-mile stroll from the Rockland waterfront and the center of town. Her guest room is located on the second floor, spacious, with a very comfortable memory foam Queen bed; so comfortable that we found ourselves sleeping later than our usual. Adjoining the bedroom is a small, bright sitting room with a compact refrigerator, microwave, jug water dispenser and small bar top with coffee maker, kettle, dishes, glasses and cutlery for two. With this at our disposal, we peacefully enjoyed beverages each morning to get us going and others each evening to calm us down. Both the bedroom and sitting room have large screened windows left wide open for terrific fresh air circulation – no need for AC. Across the hall from the bedroom is a spa-like, newly renovated bathroom sporting a massive tub and a separate large tiled shower. During our stay, we had exclusive use of the bathroom, which was delightful.

    Richard2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed staying at Genevieve's place. She was lovely, the room was very comfortable, she has a sweet dog, Woody, who was very friendly. Because of the way the house is sited, and where the room is, it kinda felt like being in a treehouse. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was huge with a great shower. The extra room with the tea making facilities was a sweet addition, streaming with light in the morning, a very cosy place to take your morning tea/coffee. Genevieve was a lovely host. I would gladly stay with Genevieve again.

    Samantha2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay with Genevieve. The suite of rooms were just wonderful. The location is very accessible to all the wonderful things Maine has to offer. Genevieve is a wonderful host and her dog, Woody, is great fun. AT&T customer, there is no cell service in this part of Maine. However, Genevieve offer WIFI which works beautifully. I highly recommend staying with Genevieve if you are traveling thru midcoast Maine.

  • This was my best airbnb stay ever. Not only did I have a beautiful and comfortable room, I also had a sitting room, with fresh coffee, tea, mini fridge. Every detail was well thought out. The bed was super comfy. And...Genevieve is a gracious and welcoming hostess. I will stay here every time I come back. Couldn't have asked for more. Also, she has a super cute, friendly and well-behaved doggy.

  • First off the cabin was beautiful and charming. Steve and Julie were gracious hosts though I only met during my stay. The cabin is close to Camden and Rockland which have some great restaurants. I would certainly return here again!

    Gus2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Steve have put so much love and attention to detail in this space. The cabin is strong and comfortable. The layout gives access to hiking, swimming, nature watching, fire building, star gazing. Camden is a beautiful coastal town 17 minutes away. This area has it all. I will be back to this cabin year after year. It is truly magic.

    Emily2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was a perfect way to unplug in the Maine woods and the access to the lakes and the hiking around the Camden area was an extra plus. Steve gave us great recommendations on where to hike and get groceries and supplies. He also was attentive and explained the ins and outs of this home away from home. The cabin is basically perfect. We went fishing, canoeing, hiking, and cooked delicious seafood on the stove. Everything was perfect and would recommend to anyone.

    Wade2017-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Steve and Julie were fantastic hosts - warm, friendly, and very easy to communicate and interact with. The cabin itself is truly something else. Beautifully rustic and crafted with skill, it was the perfect place to be. We were smiling constantly while we were there and we loved the nature, peacefulness, and beauty of it all.

  • Julie and Steve were amazing hosts. We ended up spending less time than planned but we had a delicious dinner at theirs our first night over and they were such fantastic and generous company. They offered lots of help and made sure that we had everything we needed. The cabin itself is breathtakingly beautiful and was surprisingly comfortable. We barely noticed we were away from the amenities of modern living. We can't wait to return to Camden.

    Aoise2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was absolutely perfect! It's so cozy and private, set in a beautiful landscape! We enjoyed sitting out on the deck with a glass of wine. I would definitely recommend staying here!

    Stacey2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything from booking to departure was a pleasure to arrange with Julie and Steve. They are incredibly welcoming and generous. The description of and directions to the cabin are spot on (ps. you cannot drive-up all the way to the cabin). Like all things precious, the photos do not capture the true beauty and incredible ambiance of the cabin and the surrounding nature. It is tranquil and very artistic. Everything was built and put together with such positive intent, which creates the perfect environment to fantasize about how all dreams can came true. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Cooking on the old gas stove inspired our inner master chefs. The c.1900 coffee grinder produced a coffee fit for a king/queen. We did not need to use the indoor stove for heating but we were secretly wishing for a cooler day to try it out. It was wonderful to be able to grill food outside on the Weber (gas) and to make a fire in the fire pit overlooking the pond and rising full moon. Having full access to the pond, dock, and row boat were awesome (there are two kayaks at Hobbs pond for use too). We had a swim both at Hobbs and Cotton pond. The loft room is very spacious and the bed is very comfortable. The pull-out futon is much less comfortable and not recommended. Everything is spotless incl. bedding, kitchen, floors, and outhouse. The outhouse with its view is a pleasure to use (day and night) and the shower is FANTASTIC. The cabin is filled with maps and great literature. We stayed at the cabin with our two-year old. Although I anticipated that I would never be able to take my eyes off her I was much less worried about safety than what I originally anticipated (i.e., the stairs, porch and loft balusters are all made with twigs and spaced unevenly with some larger than usual/standard gaps) because everything is very sturdy! We would highly recommend a stay at the hand built cabin to those who love the serenity of nature and all things beautiful. If you are as lucky as us the bull frogs will serenade you day and night!

  • My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Hope. The apartment was clean and comfortable. I feel that a place you stay is made or broken by two things the bed and shower. Both were top notch which led to a relaxing stay. We seriously melted into the pillows. There was also a folder with recommendations. Even though we've been to the area before there were places we had not heard of so it was nice to try some new places. The hostess was available and pleasant to speak with. We felt comfortable to communicate if we had any issues. (Which we didnt) We really feel that we got our monies worth. We look forward to coming back for another visit.

    Jocelyn Held2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jillian was so kind and accommodating! Her place was beautiful and in the perfect location. It was not far from major towns and there was a lot of stuff to do, even after a major snowstorm. Everything was super clean and beautiful, and the driveway was shoveled and clean when we got there. She was super nice in all messages, responds fast, and was very understanding about us arriving late because of the weather. I recommend staying here to everyone, it was completely worth it!

    Liliya2018-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jillian's place was really nice and clean. The propane stove looks really authentic and gives the whole place a cozy warms. The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of space. Jillian was really helpful and responsive! We would come again :)

    Christian2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. The rooms are very well isolated so a snoring family member was a non-issue. The only thing I'd recommend is bringing a fan or some other white noise generator (phone) to cover up any furnace noise in the master bedroom (the other rooms were quiet). Easy to find, the roads and driveway were well plowed despite the fact that they had over a foot of snow and it was well below 0F. We stayed for only a short time but the beautiful living room and amazing kitchen would make a long stay awesome.

Serene, picturesque cottage on private lake with dock
Shangri-La is the quintessential Maine lake house. The drive down the sun-speckled lane transforms you, relaxes and prepares you for just the kind of vacation you have been so looking forward to. Travel down a winding lane with tall pines opening on a newly renovated cottage sitting so close to the water’s edge, a stone dropped out the living room window would land amongst the lily pads. This cottage was one of the first to be built on Crawford Pond (really a lake, but known locally as such) and, according to the owners, has always been known as Shangri-La.  The recent and full renovation didn’t alter the charm of the original design – but thoughtful upgrades have made this cottage more comfortable for modern living. With two bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a full sized washer and dryer, a modern kitchen, WIFI and cable TV Shangri-La has everything you need and all the things you don’t.   You’ll hear loons all day long, the occasional boat (this is a private lake so boat traffic is limited), the dipping of a paddle as a kayaker passes by and the water lapping the shore. The first floor has a fantastic covered porch overlooking the yard and the waterfront. With plenty of comfortable seating, this is a great place to read, take a nap, have coffee in the morning or a glass of wine as the day settles down.  The kitchen has a gas stove and oven, a full-sized refrigerator, dishwasher and a microwave. It is fully equipped with a large amount of counter space, ready to prepare meals of any size.  Outside on the deck is a propane grill as well. The dining area seats 4 -6 people and is open to the living room. The front of the cottage is all windows and regardless of where you are, it’s hard to tell that there is any land between you and the lake. The living room has a large, flat screen television with cable connection. Upstairs, the master is at the front of the cottage with a queen bed. The windows offer unobstructed views of the lake and have blackout shades to block the early morning summer sun. Thoughtful elements like bedside table with good reading lamps, a full-length mirror and closet space make a difference. The bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and is clean. modern and efficient with a shower, vanity and a stacked washer and dryer. The second bedroom is at the back of the cottage, overlooking the wooded back yard. With two twins, a bureau and a closet there is plenty of room to move around. The waterfront is lovely and friendly with a dock. The water level gradually gets deeper and this is a great place to launch a kayak from.  Off the dock is a float with built in lounge chairs…an easy swim from the end of the dock. While peace and quiet abound here, the large cities of Rockland and Camden and towns like Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde and Owls Head are a 15-minute drive away and day trips to Bar Harbor, Boothbay, Portland are convenient.
Located on a quiet lake, in central Mid-Coast Maine, this property is perfect for spending lazy, summer days by the water, yet only 15 minutes to Camden and Rockland, 2 of the largest towns. Union is a small farming town known for good antiquing. On the Union Common, you will find a small, well stocked grocery store as well as The Badger Cafe and Pub serving locally sourced food and a variety of beers, both bottled and draught. Also be sure to visit Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery, also in Union. Close by the Rockland and Camden, you will find many restaurants, museums, art galleries, and opportunities for saltwater adventures.

Come relax in the cozy, one-bedroom guest house on 35-acre New Morning Farm. Harvest fresh organic vegetables from the garden to create delicious meals in a well-appointed kitchen. Havener Pond is a short walk and saltwater access to Muscongus Bay a short drive. Camden/Rockport, Rockland, and Damariscotta are equidistant (25 minutes), offering museums, events, and many good restaurants.
Our guest house, known as the Hen House, is a one-bedroom house with everything you need for a relaxing stay.
We live on 35 acres of meadows and woods in Midcoast Maine, on Finntown Road, known among neighbors as Finntonia. Finntown Road bisects the largest tract of undeveloped land south of Route One in Midcoast Maine. There are a number of farms on the road, most of them organic.
  • I cannot rave enough about our time at Mercedes & John's charming guesthouse - it was easily one of the best Airbnb experiences we've had so far. The location is perfect for those wanting to explore the Maine coast - right in between Portland and Acadia National Park, with lots of darling little harbor towns along the way in either direction. (They provide detailed directions to their property, which is a little off the beaten path, but we found that (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps took us directly there with no problems.) Mercedes was an unbelievably gracious host; when we arrived, she had stocked the guesthouse with an array of local, organic supplies, all from either her farm or farms nearby: fresh-baked bread, tomatoes and cucumbers, huge sprigs of basil, eggs, delicious cheese and homemade yogurt, peaches from their peach tree, an entire carton of blueberries, and much more. The guesthouse is equipped for all basic cooking needs, and she also decorated with freshly-cut flowers and left us a newspaper clipping of some local events happening that weekend. But really what made the trip so wonderful was Mercedes herself! - what an absolute joy of a woman, so eager to give us a tour of their beautiful farm and generously offering to fill our car with fresh vegetables! :) We are so happy to have met Mercedes and John and sincerely hope to stay with them again in the future.

    Savannah2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful little spot. Mercedes and John are thoughtful and charming hosts. The garden is beautiful. The fridge had homemade yogurt, fruit coffee, eggs, bread, cheese and milk. Perfect to get started on a beautiful day. Water from their well is so crisp and clean. My friend and I enjoyed talking to Mercedes and John who are both very interesting and friendly. It was a great stay! I hope to return and recommend the cottage highly!

    Lesley2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a find! Where to start? Mercedes and John are amazingly sweet, genuine, and interesting hosts who are great to visit with but also willing to give you plenty of space if you so desire. Their farm is a wonder... Off a lovely quiet country road that is easily accessible to route 1 and many fun places to visit on the mid coast. They have clearly put a lot of love and sweat into this farm and are out working in the flower and veggie gardens daily and their work shows! And of course, the guest house! What a great use of space. Clearly designed with an eye for detail, the guest house is a wonderful space to relax in... You will have everything that you need and feel quite spoiled. A few people mentioned that the Internet might be spotty - we had great connection, though was a little slow at times, but nothing that we couldn't deal with. I would highly recommend a stay with Mercedes and John!

    Katey2016-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Mercedes is sunshine incarnated! She is such a lovely, kind human. She offered us fresh veggies from her bountiful garden, she always put a smile on our faces, and their home is so comforting. Mercedes went above and beyond to ensure we had a splendid weekend. Such a great find and one of my best experiences with Airbnb.

    Lauren2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. We felt very much at home, and the garden is just magical.

    Jenny2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is truly a special place. The care with which the small house was designed, built, and equipped is remarkable. There is a quality about this small house that radiates thoughtfulness and warmth, which is also an apt description of the hosts, Mercedes and John. It was a birthday weekend with my girlfriend that brought us to the farm, and waiting for us upon arrival was a birthday cake, wine, cheese, and blueberries picked from the farm. The farm itself is beautiful and well maintained, and is close to great hiking, food, and wine. We especially recommend Oyster River Winegrowers (for their wine, and commitment to their craft) and Sammy's Deluxe (in Rockland, for a special dinner), and Glidden Point Oysters (Edgecomb). Thank you, Mercedes and John for a great weekend! We cannot wait to return to your farm soon.

  • What a great weekend it has been. Sunshine or rain - the house is a wonderful, very thoughtfully constructed and equiped "refuge", cozy, warm and the products from the garden, Mercedes so generously offered, made a perfect dinner. Great interaction with Mercedes and John who where always helpful but yet discrete.........- my best (of many) AirBnb-experiences so far.

Charming lakeside cottage- classic with modern ammenities and touches.
Sleeps 2–4 in one bedroom and 1 futon; 1 full bathroom Little Egg Cottage sits directly on North Pond in Warren. With privacy and views abounding, this newly-constructed cottage has all the modern amenities and comforts of home without sacrificing the classic lakefront cottage and cabin-styling and feel. The open-concept cottage sits on an elevated knoll, overlooking hundreds of feet of lakefront, a dock, raft, hammock and picnic table at the foot of the property. Natural beadboard walls, hardwood floors, exposed beams, expansive windows and comfortable, tasteful furnishings make Little Egg feel both cozy and open, at home and away, all at the same time. The eat-in kitchen is large with vaulted ceilings and skylights. White beadboard cabinets and plenty of counter space make the kitchen easy to use — full-sized gas stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and all the kitchen utensils, cookware, etc., one would need. The kitchen table overlooks the yard and the waterfront — French doors open onto the deck which is complete with patio furniture for eating outside and a gas grill. The living room is large with a den area and a seating area — the entire living room overlooks the waterfront thanks to a wall of windows. One couch and two love-seats create a perfect place to read, chat and just relax. The den area has a flat-screen television (the house is equipped with satellite TV and WiFi Internet connection) and offers a very comfortable futon couch that has the capability of creating a sleeping area for one or two. A small nook is perfect for putting together puzzles, making a space for a "home office," for those who have to work or check email while on vacation, or having coffee in the morning. The master bedroom is fantastic with a private deck and 2 Adirondack chairs — you are in the canopy of the trees in this very private bedroom and it is truly fantastic. The cottage`s only bathroom is off the master with a large walk-in shower and vanity area. A washer and dryer is also available for guest use, on the first floor. Outside, find large trees, an expansive yard and endless peace and quiet. Warren is a lovely town — out of the way with the ability to get to towns such as Camden, Rockland, Damariscotta, Thomaston and the St. George Peninsula with ease. All are within a 15–30 minute drive. Dogs may be CONSIDERED with pet fee and acceptance of pet policy. We will need to know size, breed and age of the dog.
Quiet, private, lake front home with mature trees and plantings. This is a great area to observe nature and enjoy watching wildlife. There is easy access to the towns of Rockland and Damariscotta for great restaurants, shopping, museums and more.

  • We had the most wonderfully relaxing stay thanks to Paula and Carlo and their gorgeous home! Paula and Carlo were incredibly considerate hosts and were even able to accommodate our early arrival after a long night of travel. The place was equipped with everything we could have needed, just minutes from all the local attractions, and provided a peaceful retreat in the evenings. You will not be disappointed!

  • First airbnb experience and I know it will be hard to beat! Gorgeous property overlooking the coast of Maine. Views to die for. Suite was clean, crisp, well appointed and welcoming. Paula is a friendly outgoing hostess well versed on the region and helping visitors find experiences that match their interests. Hope to return soon!

  • Paula was an extremely gracious host. Good communication on arrival and she let us know exactly how we would get to her place well in advance. She informed us about a local festival going on downtown during our stay when we arrived. We attended and had a great time. Even though we had an extremely short stay, the views from the guest suite were absolutely beautiful. I would recommend the salty dog to anybody who needs a stay in Rockland.

  • Paula and Karlo are very gracious hosts. Their house is gorgeous, and the space we stayed in was lovely. We look forward to staying in their beautiful home again!

  • Paula provides a beautiful, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed rental space for her guests. She and her husband were very welcoming and provided many recommendations on things to do and great restaurants in the area. The views are amazing and the location is calm and quiet, but only a few minutes drive from downtown Rockland. Do not hesitate to book here! It is an exceptional rental experience!

    MICHAEL2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful home, location, absolutely spectacular view! Right where you want to be to get a taste of Maine. We packed so much into the visit we didn't get a chance to take advantage of the grill or fire pit, but we will definitely do so next time! Very private and scenic, and Paula, Karlo, and Guinness were fantastic hosts! Perfect for our family of 3+ dog, and works very well for a toddler who enjoyed running around the enormous yard and counting rocks. Look forward to staying again, hopefully next summer!

    Nadia2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • I checked that our visit there was exactly as expected because we have stayed their before and returned. The view is beautiful, the accommodations private, and very quiet. There are so many nice touches including area magazines, a snack box and comfy linens. If you like awaking to the morning light, this is the place for you!

The Southend is a friendly and vibrant oasis in Rockland. Located close to all restaurants, museums and points of interest, our neighborhood is a perfect base from which to explore the area. It is a working waterfront neighborhood with the boats, people, noise and action commonly associated with such an environment.
The second floor apartment of The Daniel W. Look House is located on Mechanic Street , the southern border of the Southend, with water views over the harbor towards Owls Head. The entry way foyer and stairs lead up to the open living room and kitchen. To to the left the bedrooms, with the queen suite looking out over the Sail, Power and Steam Museum. There is a full bathroom including a washer and dryer stack. The whole apartment has just been completely renovated from fresh paint, fresh sheets and refurbished white pine floors.
The neighborhood includes The Coastal Children's Museum, The Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and the Sail, Power and Steam Museum. There are many Victorian houses to view and plenty of shaded streets to stroll. Unfortunately my neighbor's barn was involved in a fire, so there is ongoing work. The community has rallied to help.
  • I highly recommend Matthew's place. It's clean, has everything you could need (from kitchen items to board games to a washer & dryer), is a short walk to town, there is a lovely park across the street and so blissfully quiet. Loved the added touches of fresh flowers, a bowl of fruits and veggies and local Maine blueberry jam! There were only two of us but there is plenty of room for a family or two couples. We felt right at home and didn't want to leave! Thank you, we will be back!

    Kristin2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place! Lovely views and charming museum across the road, quiet neighbourhood. Matthew has great taste and we found everything we needed there - and lots of games too which was a nice surprise. Very comfortable beds, very clean apartment and Matthew was lovely and helpful. We'd definitely visit again!.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. From fresh cut flowers in the kitchen, to mints on our beds, Matthew adds finishing touches to make your stay extra special. The apartment is just across the street from the water and features some nice views. Its a nice neighborhood and a great walk into town. I would love to stay here again.

  • A great place for our visit with a good location to downtown and walks along the coastline. Matthew had great communication and I would stay there again in the future.

    Jeff2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed our stay. Matthew's place came as advertised: newly renovated, comfortable, clean. It's a short, pleasant walk to downtown Rockland. We arrived too late to visit the boat museum across the street. We'll have to come earlier next time.

    Donalda2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mathew's place worked well for us. It's more in a mellow residential area than the hustle and bustle of the little town which I prefer. There are sea views from the place and a lovely easy seaside walk into town.

Rustic family cabin with complete privacy, surrounded by forest, with a beautiful water view. Two bedrooms inside with a detached bunk house and lots of lawn space for tent setup. Large outdoor fireplace is the main gathering area and great for cookouts. Plenty of seating outside. Plenty of opportunities for aquatic fun; canoes, kayaks, swimming, and fishing! The cove offers even more privacy from the waterside!
Great spot for people looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Also perfect for hunting - you are completed immersed in the forest, surrounded by undeveloped land.
No neighbors! Your nearest neighbor closes up for the season in late summer.
  • Beautiful location, very quiet!

    Jessica2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • It's gorgeous here. Very quiet. I went with a couple friends and we had an awesome time out there. Electricity becomes a bare minimum thing in your life immediately unless you bring extra gas(we played Smash on the 64 a lot, dont judge). Without the electricity, people talk instead of staring at screens. Exactly what we wanted. The water is CRYSTAL clear all the way across, seeing the bottom 12ft down is really impressive. Pulled a couple nice fish out of there too. Would really recommend to anyone interested to go. Oh, and bring a dog. A big one.

I'm offering a private room with a double bed. It also has a private bathroom.
My house is located in downtown Thomaston where you will find a cafe, pizza place, post office, laundromat, and the neighborhood grocery store. Thomaston Harbor is only 5 blocks away, where you will find a picnic area and the Slipway restaurant.
  • Coming from VT, I needed a place for one night before going to the ferry terminal the next day. A place that would allow my dog, be affordable, and be a pleasing place to be- even if it was just one night. Noreen's checked all those boxes and more. The more was her warmth and welcoming manner, her patience when I called to check in and let her know I was arriving later than I had told her to expect me, her generosity with helping provide fridge and freezer space overnight for foodstuffs from the ice chest, sharing a simple, tasty, healthy dinner with me, and sharing about her home, travels, and some about her life. Her home has a story and I appreciated the creativity and love she is employing in caring for and improving a sweet vintage home. The room and bath were very pleasant- also employing decor and design aspects that were a treat for me. (Shower lovers- it is roomy and I believe you will appreciate the shower head.) Of course, a very important part is a mattress that is comfortable and a room that gives some private, quiet space. All good on both counts! Her dog is very sweet and my dog felt comfortable and safe- her's certainly had nothing to fear from my mellow fellow. At first I was sorry to have to drive a day early from VT and stay the extra night- to get on a ferry before late afternoon. But, looking back (3 days at this point), I am rather glad for the experience of meeting Noreen and staying at her home.

    Cheryl2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Noreen's place was quiet, comfortable, and well situated close to Rockland. There were fresh flowers and soft towels in the bathroom. Noreen went out of her way to be helpful, making restaurant suggestions and leaving us friendly handwritten notes. She even put out some grapes and oatmeal for us though it wasn't included. Her dog is sweet and well-behaved. The only thing to be aware of is the bed was a little small for my husband, who is very tall. But I definitely recommend her place!

    Michelle2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Welcoming and very comfortable home. Centrally located in Mid Coast Maine but out of the tourist hustle and bustle but 5 minutes drive from Rockland

    Dan2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Noreen is lovely, so is her home-and it is very clean! I arrived much later than expected, and Noreen was so nice about it-even greeted me with a glass of wine! The area is great-farm shops, hiking, lobster galore! There are some really nice neighbouring villages too with individual shops and places to eat. My dog also particularly enjoyed the HUGE dog park in thomaston - just a 15 minute walk from Noreen's home. All in all, the area and Noreen and her home exceeded my expectations!

    Claire2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first trip ever to Maine, and just my second Airbnb stay but things couldn’t have gone better. Noreen is the nicest lady and had a hot breakfast ready for me both mornings I was there. I took all of her ideas of things to do in the area, and loved my experience touring the Maine coast. I would definitely recommend Noreen’s place to anyone and hope to visit again!

    Matt2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Noreen has recently done a fabulous renovation on her home. The accommodations are beautiful. Our quick trip to Thomaston was a success!

    Catherine2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Noreen was prompt in meeting us for check-in during the lunch time. Her house was recently renovated with cute antique touches. There is some work still in progress but it didn't take away from the charm. Noreen was very friendly and engaging. Her dog and cat were also friendly. She was accommodating and made suggestions for restaurants and fun things to do in the area. It is a short walk to town - 2 blocks. There is a dog park nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return again if we go back to the area.

    Judy2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Noreen's place is adorable, spotlessly clean, and a perfect location for exploring Maine's mid-coast. The bed is super comfortable and the private bath is super nice. Noreen is a warm and thoughtful host. I really enjoyed her company and she freely shares her local knowledge. She went out of her way to be helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Our 1832 colonial us fully restored while preserving original workmanship. It is located in the heart of the historical village of Thomaston on one of its most beautiful streets, lined with gorgeous 19th century mansions. • This was the best Airbnb experience I've had yet! Diana was incredibly hospitable, picking us up from the station and stocking the fridge with bottled water and bagels. Her place is very comfortable (super soft bed!) with everything we needed to relax and have a snack or light meal. The apartment is cute with the nautical decor and very cozy with room to unpack. Diana is quick to communicate and offered great suggestions of things to visit; she provides lots of brochures for local spots! The location was ideal for us to walk to a few places (pizza, cafe, gas station, grocery store) and within a half hour drive to everything we wanted to do/see in the mid coast area. It was the perfect spot for our vacation and Diana is great to work with!

Diane provided us with the backroad shortcuts as well as other must-see places in the area.

The apartment was just a quick walk to downtown Thomaston and a short drive to Rockland and Camden. • Wendy was a great host. Although we didn’t get a chance to meet in person, she was quick with responses and we were able to ask her about anything we would need. Definitely would come back!!

Comfortable guest bedroom in sunny, well-kept home in historic neighborhood. Lovely yard. Off-street parking. Walking distance to shops and the St. George River. Just a 10 minute drive to Rockland for great food, art & waterfront activities. Great location if you are on your way to any of the islands or exploring the mid-coast. Must love cats!
Comfortable & spacious 2nd floor bedroom with queen-sized bed in a lovingly restored farmhouse. Neat & clean. Directly across the hallway from shared bath with shower. Small bathroom on 1st floor with claw-foot tub, if you prefer a soak!
Our neighborhood has many beautiful historic shipbuilder and sea captain's homes on its safe, quiet, tree-lined streets. Just several blocks from the St. George River, it's an easy walk to The Slipway - open seasonally, a great restaurant right on the water, featuring a local seafood & farm-to-table menu. The Thomaston Cafe is just half a block away and is a great place for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

  • Staying at this lovely home was one of the highlights of the trip! Lisa and Rodger were gracious, fun, thoughtful, and so helpful with directions, sightseeing tips, dining suggestions, and fascinating history about Maine and the area. Lisa communicated every step of the way from booking to arrival and made sure we were completely comfortable the entire time. She went out of her way to have coffee ready each morning and waited to hear about our daily adventures at night. We loved the affectionate Pookie and Doober, too! I can't say enough good things about this host - very highly recommended!

  • This is my first time to Maine. My friend and I had a loving time here. The place is very nice, warm, relaxing feelings and welcoming. I love the house. Just like it came from an Pottery Barn magazine. Positive energy feeling when first walking in. Our room is nice and clean. The bed is wonderful and slept threw the nights. The cats, Pookie & Doober are friendly and sweet cats. Missing both of them coming to our room before bedtime. Lisa, Roger & Sam are wonderful people and sweet hosts. Thank you very much for staying up to 3 a.m. making sure we are okay. It was very wonderful what you did for us. We definitely coming back next year or maybe sooner. Ohhh, Lisa's delicious blue berries pancake are awesome!!!

    Natalie2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet neighborhood, easy walk into town or down to the water, super friendly and kind hosts. I'll definitely stay here again when I come to Thomaston!

    Mary2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely! You are definitely a guest in someone's home, but the home and the host are both pleasant and welcoming. Just watch those cats; they're friendly, but will try to trick you into letting them out.

    Paul2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Host family was pleasant and helpful. Location of the house is on a residential street lined with 1840's homes. Farnsworth museum in nearby Rockland is the home to the works of three generations of Wyeths. Day trip by boat to Monhegan island is a must.

    Erdogan2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and her husband were warm and welcoming hosts and very hospitable. We felt like guests in their home. Lisa even surprised us with a wonderful blueberry pancake breakfast in the morning (the listing doesn't mention a breakfast). We really liked our room, and the sheets on our bed were soft and luxurious. Check in was really flexible and easy. The location is very convenient for visiting Rockland (as long as you have a car of course): downtown Rockland and the waterfront are an easy 10 minute drive away. Highly recommended!

    Maria2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was great in communicating with us for our visit. We really enjoyed staying at her beautiful home and it was interesting to hear about her passions and involvement at a unique school. The walk down to the water is also lovely; you get to learn a little about the history of the town.

  • Wow! The perfect place to spend a few days recharging. Peter and Leslie were wonderful hosts and able to accommodate me and my fiancé last minute. Their camp is perfectly located. We spent our days swimming in the lake, using their canoe and exploring nearby Camden and Rockland. DEFINITELY book here!

    Robert2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Leslie's guest/boathouse is fantastic. The place is exactly as seen in the photos. It is a warm, inviting space with an unbelievable view of the pond (great for watching sunsets!) Peter and Leslie are kind, flexible hosts who are just as warm and inviting as the place. It's a great place to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet place this is the spot for you! It's also easy access to venture to other fun places like Belfast, Rockland, and Boothbay Harbor.

  • Very good property. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked and everything exceeded expectations. Highly recommended!

  • Peter & Leslie were incredibly warm and helpful! The cabin is as lovely as the photos and it is a great home base to have while exploring the Camden & Rockport area. The lake is also truly scenic. We couldn't recommend this airbnb more highly!

    Tessa2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Peter and Leslie's for 3 nights before I headed up to northern Maine. I'm a graduate student and work full time so I was really hoping for a relaxing retreat and that is exactly what I found --- and more. The space itself is clean and inviting. I felt submerged in nature but enjoyed the modern feel of the apartment. The water is just a skip away and the lake it calm and great for swimming. I slept with the windows open and enjoyed the loons calling to one another. I even got to see a king fisher and it's mate early this morning. I cannot wait to stay here again!

    Mae2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We cannot say enough about this place! We went there for a short getaway, and ended up having an amazing time. Everything was perfect. They went above and beyond in every way for our stay there. We felt like we were visiting friends and family. Fishing was great, and it would take a month to see all the sights around this area! Thank you so much again Peter and Leslie you can't wait to come back.

Enjoy the peacful coziness of artistic rural living only a 20-minute scenic drive from Coastal town Camden, Rockland and Rockport on Route 1. This unique craftman's suite is attached to the main home and has a private entrance with separate bathroom. Our farm is a great place to commune with forest, meadow and water and offers easy access to many outdoor adventures and coastal explorations. It is a comfortable place to retreat alone or with a travel companion.
The farm is located on 11 acres alongside a pond and offers a forest trail hike, gardens w/ fresh organic food and herbs, bees, chickens, hops, and playground. The historic neighborhood bustles with activity as the community swimming hole across the street is popular spot to jump off the bridge or hang out... Why not go ahead and take dip?
  • Before we arrived, Christina was very quick to answer any questions I had about the listing or area. Everything was very clean, and the bed was comfortable and cozy. We were attending a wedding in the area, so unfortunately we didn't get a chance to spend time exploring the farm or swimming hole across the street (though we did meet a couple very friendly adorable cats). As others reviewers have mentioned, expect to be greeted with the sound of roosters and chickens in the morning :)

  • Christina was an amazing host! The space was clean and delightful and the location was quiet. Her farm was a nice added treat as well. Perfect time, would stay again!

  • Very nice room and comfortable bed. Nice walk in the back woods and fun to see all the animals.

    Lela2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved loved loved Christina's barnhouse rental. The night before we stayed with her, out of necessity we stayed at a roadside motel and were greeted with traffic noise, a drunk two doors down yelling into his cell phone, and a pail of sand and cigarette butts. Christina, on the other hand, had the lights on and she and her two daughters greeted us with warmth and a 3 and 5-yr old's enthusiasm! The girls showed us their homework ("Its ok cuz it's just coloring!") while Christina showed us her rental, which had everything we needed. Beautiful big, comfortable bed gave us the best night's sleep. The chickens and turkeys did raise a bit of a fuss early in the morning but we travel with foam earplugs (remember the roadside motel?) so we slept soundly till 9 (2hrs past when we usually wake). Did I mention there was a purring kitten to greet us as well? Christina seemed a very interesting person we wanted to know better and her farm looked terribly inviting to explore but regretfully we had to move on. Hopefully we can come back!

  • Great location, not too far from Camden and great local hikes. Would highly recommend.

  • Spellbound Farm is aptly named on lots of levels. Chrissie has created a warm space in her barn including a comfortable bedroom and bath. Her farm includes chickens, ducks, geese and sheep in close proximity. We enjoyed the “symphony.” Chrissie is a very warm host with many layers of life experiences. Our only regret was not having more time to join her for conversation. Her gardens and bee hives are spectacular and if weather permits, well worth exploring. Our one-night stay at Spellbound Farm captures Air BnB at its finest

Beautiful cape-cod style home built in 1825. We are a busy little family of 5 that loves company! We cultivate hops, medicinal herbs and mushrooms and keep bees and chickens. • Cute house and farm. Christina was great, as we arrived pretty late at night, and certainly a couple hours later than we had told her we expected to arrive. Still, she was friendly, let us store our bikes in her barn, and would have let us tour the farm, but we got there so late and had to leave so early the next morning that we didn't have time. It's a peaceful setting, and the water from her kitchen was about the best tasting water I've had. Couldn't get enough of it. Thanks.

  • Chrissy has a beautiful farm and front yard garden that is a haven for guests. She is an inspiring mother to her two little girls who are happy and busy. The bed was wonderfully comfortable, and sleep was deep and peaceful.I wish I could've stayed longer.

  • Clean & comfortable lodging with Chrissy & her beautiful girls. We enjoyed walking about their organic farm viewing the plants, animals, bees...and seeing all the herbal tinctures Chrissy prepares for the Farmers' Market. Spellbound Farm is full of life and creativity - a special place to experience. Thanks!

The room and its bathroom are both terrific, nicely refurbished and very clean and comfortable....everything as advertised. She and her family (including her two young children) were very pleasant to deal with. I'd recommend her place to anyone....a very nice stay!

Cozy, updated and well-maintained, three-bedroom home just off Main Street in Rockland, within easy walking distance to Downtown and Rockland Harbor (a 5-minute brisk pace; a 10-minute mosey). Enjoy all of Rockland's festivals, shows, restaurants and bars without having to worry about driving or finding a place to park. You'll have the entire house and driveway to yourself during your stay. Owners are near and available if needed.
The entire house is yours! We do not live there. We maintain it for you, the renters. It is very clean, as we like to maintain the house as a B&B inn. The beds and mattresses are new as of June 2017, as well as the pillows and the bath and kitchen towels. The mattresses & pillows are protected with guaranteed Serta covers. The floors and furniture and bathroom are vacuumed and cleaned after every visit and a germicidal bleach & water solution is used while scrubbing the toilet & shower. Germicidal bleach is used while washing the sheets & towels, as well. We consistently strive for a clean, comfortable, 99% germ-free home.
Towne Cottage is located on a dead-end road, just a few minutes' walk to Downtown Rockland! Enjoy all of Rockland's shows, festivals, restaurants & pubs without having to drive or find a place to park.
  • The house was great, super clean and close to everything Rockland has to offer. John and Becky were awesome hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. The Rock City Coffee was a special treat and much appreciated! The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

  • Jon and Becky were very flexible with our ever-changing arrival time, making checking in simple and convenient. The house is on a quiet street off of Main Street in Rockland and a 5 minute walk to the city center as well as to Sandy Beach. The house has all the amenities of home including a washer and dryer, as well as a wonderful pulley clothesline outside; ample towels, pillows, blankets, kitchen and washing supplies were greatly appreciated. Jon and Becky were even kind enough to leave coffee and tea supplies to begin our Rockland adventure! The AC upstairs, in addition to numerous house fans, kept the entire house cool and comfortable for sleeping. As accurately described in the house description, there are 3 bedrooms upstairs, with only 1 situated as a closed off room. This was perfect for our group as the kids could share the combined bedrooms. Rockland is a beautiful and quiet mid-coastal Maine town with a less "touristy" feel. We loved the town and our accommodations at Jon and Becky's house to enjoy: Rockland Harbor Trail, Rockland breakwater, dinner at Claws, Sandy Beach, Owl's Head Lighthouse, Mt. Beattie and Mt. Megunticook hike in Camden State Park.
