A climb up Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park provides wonderful views of the city and surrounds after a not-too-taxing walk. The number 7 bus takes you near enough to start your trek.

A selection of local attractions and activities. One great local option that we can't list, but would still recommend, is the Leith Taproom Tour offered by ScotBeer tours (scot.beer).
Also in an old converted church (and just around the corner) you can give rope rock climbing a go. If you prefer to climb without ropes, there's a sister bouldering centre called Alien Bloc in the Canonmills area of Edinburgh.
