Sightseeing
The castle, now ruined, dates back to the Norman Conquest. The gatehouse was rebuilt in about 1600. Surrounded by a moat, the castle is not open to the public, but is worth a visit as it is only 5 minutes walk from the property, and the views are beautiful. Many public footpaths cross the surrounding fields so this is a great place to start a longer walk.

Follow this link to the Castles and Coast Way guide. This is a great walk to begin from Stogursey, as it can easily be broken down in to two shorter circular walks, rather than the full 13 mile hike!
A great place to access the coastal footpath, or spend some time fossil hunting on the rocky beach!

Pretty country pub in a delightful location. Great food and the Sunday carvery is a real treat. Booking recommended to avoid disappointment, though. About a 20 minute walk from the property, so leave the car behind if the weather is fine!
