Sightseeing

Young's river falls can be viewed from the parking lot (about 20 minutes drive from Astoria) or can be seen up close by hiking downhill (about 5 minutes walk, terrain is rough/uneven) We love this spot for catching fresh air and getting sprayed by the crashing waterfall!

One of the most beautiful beaches in Oregon, and also an epic spot for all levels of surfing. To get there: There's a big carpark off the 101 and you follow a small hike that goes through a bridge under the highway, then arrives at the large beach (about 10-15 min hike) Short sand beach is about 45 minutes south of Astoria.

The closest beaches are located in Fort Stevens State Park, and we definitely recommend visiting the wreck of the Peter Iredale to get some epic photos at sunset.

Fly kites at the astoria column on a windy day. There's also gorgeous views of the river from the column and kids have fun running around on the big lawn and checking out the gift shop
