Sightseeing

An orphanage used to occupy the site in the 16th century, and its atmosphere kept something out of its history that you feel when you walk around. But besides the legend, you find a lot of tiny stalls serving Moroccan, Lebanese, Italian, African and Japanese food. Bon appétit!

Parks & Nature

A 30 min walk takes you to the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, which is the 3rd largest city park (25 ha), but by far the best to visit in Paris, and maybe in the world. The park dates back to end of 19th century. Visit the Temple de la Sibylle, a miniature version of the famous ancient roman Temple of Vesta in Tivoli, Italy. Climb to the 32 meters waterfall cascading into a lake of 1.5ha surrounding the Île de la Belvédère. You get an amazing view of Paris: look at Eiffel tower on the right, at Sacre Coeur, then walk down through the grotto to the lake, and have a romantic walk over the long suspension bridge then a drink at Rosa Bonheur, a cute boho bar set in a former guinguette...
