wilderness beach - just breath taking

Be prepared to watch the tide times and be ready for a serious climb up and down but the beach is well worth it. Dog friendly all year round

Be prepared for a steep climb up and down - but the beach is beautiful. Best to go at low tide for rock pooling or high tide for swimming. I wouldn't recommend kayaking in at mid to low tide - rocky! The waves can get big at mid tide. There also some nudists here - occasionally. Not an easy descent in the last twenty metres which means this beach is NEVER busy. Doable for able and fit dogs and humans (4 yrs plus)

Park at the back end - avoid the town. So take the high back road in and aim for the Marine Drive Car Park. Dogs are allowed on this bit of the beach all year round and the walk through the dunes is much nicer than ploughing through people.

local attraction

Expensive but will keep everyone entertained . On a still evening in the summer you can hear the lions and wolves and gibbons from our lawn.. but nothing has escaped... yet... !

Farm Shop

This is the best place ever for cider and meat. Mark and Sue are super friendly and love to talk to you about their family farm and their passion for their work is evident. Happy cows, happy people. They will even take you into the cider cellar and let you taste from the barrels... as long as Fantastic Mr Fox hasn't got there first!! (Not open during covid pandemic :( )
