Historic, Victorian town with abundant shopping, restaurants and activities. We like Finistere restaurant for dinner and Doc’s for a quick burger & beer. There is an excellent farmer’s market in the Uptown area on Saturday mornings (from the first Saturday in April - the 3rd Saturday in December): https://jcfmarkets.org/saturday. In the same area is Pane d’Amore bakery with pastries and fresh bread.

Hiking

The Port Ludlow resort has a network of hiking trails (25 miles in total) and they are easy to get to from our house. Here is a link to the trail map: https://portludlowresort.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/2017_Hiking_Trail_Map_Reduced.pdf. The Port Ludlow Hiking Club has published a list of other trails nearby, including those in the Olympic National Park and Forest: http://www.portludlowhikingclub.com/guide-trails. You can climb the trail to the top of Mt. Walker, or you can drive up, to see an expansive view toward Seattle. Another fun walk is to the Dungeness Spit lighthouse.
