A firm favourite with the locals, I do recommend you book if you want to eat at the pub.
The landlords Malcolm and Claire also have a smallholding and raise their own meat for the table, oh and a butchery as well. The pub also has it's own kitchen garden and hens so you are assured all the food is ultra local and you can taste the love that goes into every bite.
Or of course you can just enjoy drinks in the beer garden.

Lovely food and extensive beer garden. A 30 minute walk, mostly on footpaths but a 200 yd stretch along the main road so take a torch and your wits if walking in the dark.

About a 40 minute walk from Meadow Hideout. A lovely rustic setting within the brewery (who doesn't eat to be there) with lots of out side seating that catches the afternoon sun. A favourite for the village locals who fancy a change of scenery before heading back to the Bear in the village. Do a bit of food shopping at the adjacent farm shop with it's bakery and butchery.

Take the back lanes for a leisurely lunch and enjoy Frogmore Creek and its walks along the banks of the Kingsbridge Salcombe Estuary.
Probably not the best for an evening visit if you are walking and definitely not along the main A379.
