Neighbourhoods

A cute little town of only 800 people but with lots of personality! Several lakes connected by the Magnetawan river system - a small beach, a dock, an ice rink in winter, Hassard Lake for ice fishing and direct access to many hiking/biking/ATVing/Sledding trails year round. Santa Clause water skiing show in November, the Regatta in July, Dog Sled racing in February - its all going on! Don’t forget to visit Nostalgia in the old church for some amazing antique, rustic and classic finds - the perfect place to pick up gifts and/or memorabilia (May-Nov)

Armstrong’s Thunder Ridge Farm is a family run business operating from the beautiful Almaguin Highlands. With their team of two stunning black Percheron Geldings – imported from Manitoba specifically for them – they offer their customers sleigh rides, wagon rides and custom events too. Their property in Sprucedale features 54 acres of fully groomed trails to provide you with the best sleigh ride adventure in the winter months. Their sleigh holds up to 14 people and is equipped for both day time and evening rides with under glow lighting and spot lights for our night time adventures. Armstrong’s offers three packages for their winter sleigh rides; 30 minutes $75, 1 hour $100 or 1.5hrs including a bonfire and hot chocolate $150. In the summer, wagon rides are available and their fall colour ride is very popular to take in the stunning landscape and seasonal scenery. This wagon also holds 14. Take part in a horse drawn excursion with Armstrong’s Thunder Ridge Farm as they work to keep a little bit of their northern heritage alive through old time fun with horses.
