Our new favourite coffee shop. The dark chocolate mocha is amazing, all the food we have had is excellent and the patio is the cutest. Not to mention, the art displays are always changing.

One of our personal favourites. This place has a tapas type menu that changes approximately every two weeks, so great to share. We have enjoyed every dish, and they have a selection of vinyl that you can choose to play. Its loud and busy, but we highly recommend it. Also many of the choices are able to be vegan and/or gluten free

A really cute new place that was just what New Rustico
needed - combo bistro, coffee shop and bookstore. We
have not yet eaten there but hear the food is excellent.
We have had the coffee and it is good. There is a really
cute lounge upstairs which would make for a great rainy
day spot for coffee, treats, and reading

for reasonable prices, considering the quality. The
atmosphere is upscale and service was excellent.

with a delightful garden in the back that you can sit in and
enjoy your homemade ice cream They have an ever
changing selection of flavours. If key lime pie is an

Super cute little bakery with excellent baked goods, especially
the scones!
The second location at Stanley Bridge just opened this May
and is quite a bit closer, just a few minutes past Cavendish
and in a beautiful historic church.

Sightseeing
A beautiful beach with “singing sands” that has a boat run splitting the beach. The most popular activity is bridge jumping into the run, where the tide carries you back to shore. One of our favourites and a lot of fun for kids.

This is a beautiful little seaside town that is fun to wander around for a little bit. The Lobster Barn has wonderful food and we certainly recommend the lobster roll.

This is a beautiful spot with great views and a lighthouse to tour. If you time it right, it’s also really interesting to see the tides collide.

There is a beautiful wooden boardwalk that ends with a walk up to a delightful beach. A little more secluded because it takes a bit more effort to get there, but it is a fun and worthwhile walk.

Fun little stop with delicious preserves, etc. all set up for free sampling. I don’t know anyone, who hasn’t left with at least one jar of preserves.
They have a gorgeous garden that is free to walk around, although they do have a jar for donations at the gate. There is also a butterfly conservatory that has an extra cost. I highly recommend taking at least a bit of time to explore this beautiful garden.

They have a gorgeous garden that is free to walk around, although they do have a jar for donations at the gate. There is also a butterfly conservatory that has an extra cost. I highly recommend taking at least a bit of time to explore this beautiful garden.
This beach is typically very busy but it’s beautiful and quite close to the Happy Place. As well, as it is a National Park, there are some fun kids activities and learning opportunities.

Our whole family from ages 2 - 50 went kayaking on a
guided tour with Outdoor Expeditions in 2023 and we all
loved it. It is a wonderful way to get on the water and our
guide was very knowledgable. A number of our guests ask
about the (spoiler alert) Oyster farming in the water in front
of the Happy Place and our guide took us through there
and answered all of our questions, so if you are interested,
this is a great opportunity to learn about it.
They also rent bikes, paddle boards, and canoes.

For something different and a day of relaxation, Mysa Spa
fits the bill. It is a beautiful space and incredible view, but
honestly, having been to some other nordic spas, this one
is less luxurious and pampering, but certainly still a very
nice time. If you go, I would love to hear what you think.

This Canada Post office has a small free museum about
Lucy Maud Montgomery and her history living and working
in a post office and how it affected her career. It is
delightful and then you can mail some postcards with an
Anne of Green Gables stamp on it. Well worth a quick
stop.
