The Black Hills are sacred to those who call it home.
If you have time, Black Elk Peak is a personal favorite hike. It’s the highest peak from here to the East Coast. It’s located in Custer State park which has an entrance fee in the summer. It’s probably a 45 minute drive from the apartment.

I’ve been coming out here since I was a little girl. Words can’t express the beauty of this rugged landscape. If you feel like you need an escape from the fast pace of city life, this is the place to come and heal.

This is the closest “attraction” from the apartment. It’s along Skyline Drive which is worth the drive alone. Skyline runs along the top of the main hill above us and gives views of both sides of town.
