This was the first Mexican restaurant I tried when first visiting Tucson and it has been one of my favorites ever since. Try the Molcajete (lava bowl) and enjoy the table side salsa.

This is my all time favorite place to visit in Tucson! It's a beautiful combination of zoo and botanical gardens. So many memorable things to see and do for the whole family. And a great way to learn about the lush Sonoran Desert.

(1.5+ hour drive) Escape the desert heat and experience one of the most beautiful drives in southern Arizona. Download the free Mt. Lemmon educational app presented by the University of Arizona for a wonderful history and geological lesson about “Sky Islands”. Test your skills at winter skiing/snowboarding at the top of Mt. Lemmon (southernmost ski destination in the US!) Skiing/snowboarding is available seasonally and depends on snowfall, but the ski lift is open year round and is definitely worth a trip.

Spend a day exploring all that Downtown Tucson has to offer including some of the best Mexican restaurants in the country. (My favorite is El Charro, but every Tusconan has their favorite). Check out the historic homes and buildings and over 25+ murals!

Incredible, but challenging hike to the top of Pusch Peak! Just 2 grueling miles to the top, but the feeling of accomplishment when you make it to the summit is unbeatable!

One of Tucson's most iconic places to visit. Hike the Bear Canyon Trail to Seven Falls after the mountain snow melts or during the monsoon season (July-Sep) for a spectacular waterfall experience.

Take a short 30 min drive to Picacho Peak and try your hand at the challenging climb to the top. Bring some leather gloves to help you get a good grip on the steel cables in several spots.

Verkehrsmittel

It's best to have your own vehicle to get around Tucson.

Downtown Tucson offers an electric lightrail trail to navigate around downtown. My family and I love to park at the San Augustin Mercado (check out Seis restaurant and La Estrella bakery) then hop on the train to downtown Tucson or to the University of Arizona for a basketball game!

Bring sunscreen and hiking shoes (for the outdoor type)

Tucson is known for its sunshine so be sure to prepare for the desert sun by drinking plenty of water and using sunscreen when needed. For the adventurers, don't forget your hiking shoes to get out on the beautiful trails.

The local wildlife

There are many beautiful animals that visit the property and surrounding desert landscape including mule deer, rabbits, quail, roadrunners, javelinas, and coyotes. But be mindful of the possibility of coming across a rattlesnake, scorpion, or gila monster (don't get too close). If you happen to find one of these, please keep your distance. Feel free to contact me for the removal of potentially dangerous animals on the property.
