Really great for groups, families, and couples. The atmosphere is open and rustic. There is a fun caboose for the kids to play in while the parents can drink local beers on tap. There are great vegetarian options as well.

This is a unique waffle truck that has set up camp and made a wonderful outdoor seating area. You order your waffles out front and then seat yourself in the back (all outdoors yet covered with shade. They also provide a bathroom. So it's in between a restaurant and a food truck experience. The waffles were so good!

This is the closest beach to Golden Hill. You have to pay to park but during the busy season this place is a jewel. You can park right where you set up on the sand. The bathrooms are nice. Sometimes there is a lot of seaweed to deal with. Water temps can be slightly lower than elsewhere due to the direct ocean exposure.

5000 CA-75This is the closest beach to Golden Hill. You have to pay to park but during the busy season this place is a jewel. You can park right where you set up on the sand. The bathrooms are nice. Sometimes there is a lot of seaweed to deal with. Water temps can be slightly lower than elsewhere due to the direct ocean exposure.
Ocean Beach is our family favorite. Get in early as parking can be tough. But the water is safe and family friendly and the main street Newport is a great place to shop on a dime. The pier is fun as well.
