We are just a few minutes from this golf course, and though we don't make use of it ourselves many guests have told us this is a great course! We've often been for walks there and the views are spectacular.

We love living near Nelson! We moved here partly because the food and drink scene in this town is on par with many much larger more well known cities. The local artisans & farmers' markets make it an interesting place to explore along side beautiful lake side walks and beaches in summer, local breweries and great shops.

Access to the back country via forest services roads is readily available from where we live. You can hike out of our front door and keep going for 16 km into the back country of Redfish creek road. Big views, wilderness and quiet await. Bear spray + a good understanding of hiking these trails always important - ask us for any information on this!

The jewel in the crown of this area - Kootenay lake is 100km long ringed by beautiful snow capped mountains and filled with crystal clear fresh water. A draw for anglers and swimmers a like, this unmatched body of water is the best thing about this area in our opinion :)

40 minutes away via the free ferry ride across the lake, Crawford bay is a tiny community of artisans that has an amazing number of interesting shops, crafts people and restaurants. From the traditional broom maker to the blacksmiths and weavers - we highly recommend spending a day enjoying good food and meandering through the shops. There are also beautiful hikes on this side of the lake.

There are also beautiful hikes on this side of the lake.

A local pub a few minutes down the road from us - the patio here has one of the most stunning views we've seen anywhere in the world. A great place to grab a drink especially on a warm day.

Groceries / Supplies
This tiny local store punches above its weight for being useful :) It has a pretty well stocked wine and beer collection as well as all the food basics, including some good local meats from Kaslo. For bread we recommend the Bakery at Balfour Ferry landing though.
