Family day out

Lappa valley is a must with younger children. You get a train up and then there are other trains to ride. A boating lake. Play area. Indoor soft play and a cafe and shop. We always take a packed lunch. If your buggy folds you can get it on the train. Check their website or Instagram page fir more details and prices.

This is one of our family favourites. It’s a National Trust garden. You walk down through the gardens to Durgan beach. We like to pack a back pack each with lunch and our swimming costumes and swim at the bottom. Then we walk back up visiting the maze and the “giants stride” rope swing. We visit the tea rooms for an icecream. It’s very tropical with stunning views.

Another National Trust that we like to visit. You can walk from the car park down to do a tour of the house. The gardens are perfect for a picnic. There’s a cafe and a play area for younger ones. There’s bike hire for the more adventurous!

More suitable for 12’s and under ( although there are a couple of older rides) this is another good theme park.

One of two slip and slides near us. Recommend you do this one if you’re visiting North Cornwall. It would tie in well with a visit to Port Isaac, Tintagel or Wadebridge. You can book your place ahead as it gets busy in the holidays.

Sightseeing

You can get the boat from Truro to Trelissick National Trust Gardens, Falmouth or St Mawes. Always fun to do. Falmouth town has lots to offer. St Mawes although smaller is very pretty.

Food scene

Just over a 10 min drive from us this is well worth a visit. There is a small children’s play area. Lots of outdoor picnic benches and a cafe. You can sometimes view the icecreams being made.
