Verkehrsmittel

There is a train from Melbourne to nearby Macedon Village.

Macedon which is a five minute drive from Guguburra. Taxis can be hard to come by up on Mt Macedon however, so it would be wise to pre-book this.

There are some wonderful views to enjoy from local lookouts.

The Memorial Cross lookout provides expansive views across the countryside towards the town of Woodend. On the road up to the lookout you can stop half way at a car park on the right. Here you will find the Camel's Hump track to the right to take a short walk to the lookout with view across Hanging rock. If you take the track to the left from the car park you can walk through the forest along a track through Cameron's picnic ground. If you keep going from there the track eventually leads to the Memorial Cross. This is a longer walk.

A great place for a picnic is Days Picnic ground.

This picnic area is a really good place for a large gathering and has toilet facilities, fireplaces and picnic tables. There is also a lovely walk through the forest around Sanitorium Lake that you can access from there. Further on towards Hesket you will find Hanging Rock. This is a spectacular and accessible climb, with wonderful views across the whole district from the summit.
